(Sean's POV- dream)

I walk down a stone path in an outdoor setting. Birds are singing, flowers are blooming. On days like these, I hope nothing but good things will happen. I hope... I hope I won't end up in the same place as usual during my dreams.

A dog runs across the path, and I smile. I feel happy, for the first time in forever. Are things finally going to change?

With my luck? Why would it change?

The dog disappears and the sky turns to a deep red. The imaginary birds go silent, and the grass turns to cobblestone. A ring of fire begins to encircle me, and I stop walking just as it closes me in, almost walking into the fence.

Of course. It was stupid of me to think I wouldn't be here.

"Indeed it was." I jump and spin around. It's him. 'Here we go.

It strolls forward, taking its sweet time approaching me. I almost feel compelled to walk, to get the show on the road. But fear - or maybe the demon itself - is holding me in place. All I can do is wait for the onslaught of insults.

When it gets about three feet in front of me, it stops and smiles with pointed teeth. He speaks, sending those terrible chills up my spine I get every time he's around.

"I see you're still alive. Very disappointing, just like everything else in your life."

"N-not everything." I'm not too good with comebacks, obviously.

He laughs, the crackles filled with darkness. "You know that I am correct, Jack. You know that what I say is true."

I try my best to ignore that last statement. I need a bit of information. "Who -or what- are you?" I ask.

He grins. "You will find out in due time, friend. It's not surprising you haven't figured out the mystery, given how low your intelligence is. But that's for another time. I'd like to get to how you're here, talking. So tell me, who's the chick?" Huh? How?

"How do you know about her?" I ask, incredulous.

"I'm inside your head, Jack. I can hear your thoughts, see your memories."

"Then you'd know her name."

"Indeed. I was just seeing if you'd lie to me, causing me to hurt you again. We don't want that, now do we?" Stranger used threat. Super effective. I shake my head, fearful.

"Good. Now, while you may think she is one person who likes you, she's been fooling you, like Mark and Felix and everyone else. She dislikes you so much she'd break a simple promise, as she already has."

I shake my head. "No! No, she cares. She wouldn't... leave me. I'm sure," I tell him, hope already beginning to fade. He smiles.

"I know you believe me, you know I am right. But hey, if you somehow doubt me, wake up. (Y/n)'s gone. She left you alone. Go check, now." I feel my body obeying, my dream self losing consciousness.

"You... you're wrong. (Y/n), she didn't... leave.." I say, doubting myself. The scene fades, and I sit up in bed, sweating.

I take a deep breath, trying to resist looking to my left.

I can't stop myself from glancing over.

Shit.
