I opened my eyes to see the green eyed prince standing before me. His black cape of feathers was on the ground, piled around is feet. He was looking at me with a look of complete fear. "What's wrong?" Well that's what I tried to say but it came out in a growl. The prince took a step back and seemed to cower as I stepped closer to him.
"Get away!" He pulled a small dagger from his boot and held it in both hands. He took a few steps away from me and swung his knife when I tried to get closer. "Don't make another move or I will gut you were you stand you filthy Dark-Wood-Runner."
I made a sound sort of like a whimper. I lifted a hand to see that it was small with long white claws as nails. I dropped my fur-covered hand to my side and looked in fear at my long legs that ended in taloned paws. I twisted in a circle and caught sight of a tail and a pair of yellow feathery wings. I looked back up at the prince. "What happened to me?" My voice sounded like a deer that was being strangled crossed with a growling wolf.
"Not another move!" The prince swung his dagger at me and for the first time ever I saw fear on him.
Then I felt fear. A man dressed in black with only his silver eyes showing, stepped up behind the prince. He came out of no were and held his a finger up to his scarfed mouth. I tried to worn the prince but he backed up away form me and muttered curses at me. "Grrr." I growled to try to stop him but he backed up closer to the man in black. I whimpered and stepped back as the man in black took two long strides forward and the tip of golden sword sprouted from the green-eyed prince.
The prince made a gurgling sound as he lifted his bloodstained hands from his abdomen and looked at them. The man behind him pulled the golden sword out of the prince. I leapt forward as the green-eyed prince fell to the ground, but before I had taken three steps the black clothed man held his sword up above the prince's head.
The prince clutched his stomach as he fell forward and looked up to me. "Silvanus." He muttered threw his clenched teeth as the man in black brought his sword down.
I whimpered as the prince's head rolled across the floor to my feet. When it hit my clawed feet the severed head steered up at me with those green eyes. I looked up from the severed head to where the rest of his body lay. The man in black was gone but he very much left a feeling of emptiness in the air. I felt sickened as I watched the blood flow out of the slumped body.
The world faded into darkness and that dream fled from me but another took control of me.
I stood in the middle of a battlefield. A battle raged around me and assaulted my senses. The smell of blood and gore made my stomach twist. The clang of swords on armor and gurgles or screams of pain made my head ring and my temples protest. I could feel armor pull me down and my eyes could barely peak out of my helmet. The wait of the armor was almost the same as the pull in my stomach, both of witch wanted me to fall to my knees.
I tilted my head back to look under my helmets rim, to see men, but not just any men, they were all males that I knew. I could recall meeting them from the system. All of them were from the mountain system, every silver clad, pointed eared, man was from the mountain system. Both older and younger then me they swung swords or stabbed pikes at enemies.
But who they fought scared me. The enemy troops were of the Sea folk. While they were shorter then my kind they still stood taller then the average human. I shivered as a younger man managed to stab his sword threw the Sea folks armor, the Sea folk made a terrible wiling sound as green blood rushed out of its wound. The Sea folk slumped to the ground and his helmet rolled off exposing his blue skinned face. The young man brought his sword down on the Sea folk's neck before moving on to another attacker.
Some one made a battle scream behind me. I barely had time to bring up my own sword as a Sea folk charged me. His sword clanged on mine as he pushed on. I surprised that I was able to deflect his blow and as I started to parry more of his attacks I grew confident. As we fought on I started to advance and attack the Sea folk. I pushed forward, it astonished me, I knew how to fight. I could handle a sword.
I danced past the Sea folk's sword and spun around him. I held my heavy sword up, ready to defend my self. But it never came. My new found world dissolved before my eyes. Everything went white. The sound of battle faded and the smell of gore disappeared.
