"What are you doing here?" Jinx screamed.
Hansol shrugged.
"Apparently, I'm supposed to be marrying you. Hey, I'm just as surprised as you."
Mr Song rubbed his neck as his daughter glared at him.
"Why do you think I told you to leave ToppDogg alone?"
"You're a bastard..." Jinx muttered. "I'm not marrying Kim Hansol!"
Mr Kim frowned.
"Why? What's wrong with my son?" He asked.
Jinx smiled at Hansol's father, sweetly.
"I knew he was a vampire. He just had this...air about him. If you know what I mean. You must have taught him well."
Mr Kim smiled.
"You're so kind."
"Hey, you're supposed to be marrying my son, stop chatting up my husband!" Mrs Kim laughed.
Jinx giggled and bowed her head respectfully towards the light-hearted woman, who smiled and bowed back.
"However, I understand why you're so shocked. And why you don't want to marry Hansol." Mrs Kim said softly.
Jinx tilted her head.
"You do?"
"Of course! I too married through arrangement! Aish, I hated Mr Kim when I first met him. Just like you, I went to school with him. But, as tradition dictated, we moved in with each other, and oh my...his personality was so different. He seemed to me to be cold and heartless, but when I got to know him...I loved the way he was so kind and sweet. Please, my dear, give Hansol a chance. I knew your mother, and she would be so happy if you did. We can bend the rules a little and...you two won't get married until you know you'll be fine. Move in together...as a trial. Sleep in the same bed, talk to each other, get to know each other." Mrs Kim said gently.
Jinx shivered.
"Sleep in the same bed..."
Hansol rolled his eyes.
"Mother, what's so special about this girl. Can't I marry a soldier's daughter? It would have the same affect, and we'd still be protecting their side."
He yelped as his mother hit him around the head.
"I have my reasons. Don't complain. Have you even looked at this girl properly, yet?"
"Of course I have---" Hansol broke off as his mother glared at him.
"Look into her eyes. Take her in. Don't just glance over her like you always do, Hansol." Mrs Kim snapped.
Hansol sighed and his eyes fell on Jinx's face. Her soft features stood out to him immediately. Her chocolate brown eyes sparkled and shined. Just the way she avoided his eyes and stared at the floor, blushing, made him go red in surprise. He'd never looked at her like this before. Hansol swallowed, shocked by his own feelings. He shook his head, pushing them away.
"She's...okay."
Jinx immediately met his eyes, and they flashed angrily. Hansol's lips twitched. She was feisty. That was cute.
"Jinx...what's your decision?" Mr Song asked nervously.
Jinx took a deep breath.
"Kim Hansol, if we're to marry, then you have to follow these simple rules...1. Don't kiss me. 2. Don't treat me like crap...or my friends. 3. We will not be doing more than sleeping in the same bed. 4. You will promise to protect my family and our people. And finally, 5. Just because it's you...you have to make B-Joo leave May alone. Forever."
Hansol smirked.
"Mother?"
Mrs Kim was in silent stitches.
"I like you. You're absolutely hilarious. Of course Hansol will abide by those rules. Oh, not doing more than sleeping..." She laughed.
"Looks like we're marrying then, Song Jinx." Hansol said softly, standing up and offering his hand.
Jinx took it, wincing. They shook hands and Mr Song smiled.
"We have an apartment free...not far from here...if Hansol would like to, he can easily move in whenever he wants."
"How about...next Monday? Is that okay for you and Jinx?" Mr Kim asked.
"Of course." Jinx and Mr Song said politely, before turning, and hurrying out. Mr Song was late for a meeting, and Jinx...was just too flustered to carry on."Kim Hansol?" Kaiya gasped.
Jinx nodded sadly.
"Kim Hansol. I mean, what did my mother see in him?"
"Knowing your mother, everything." Kaiya sighed.
Jinx bit her lip.
"We're going to be eating together...sleeping together...living together...I don't think I can do it. It's just too awkward!"
"Well, you've agreed now, Jinx." Kaiya said quietly. "Thank you."
Jinx sighed and hugged her friend, tightly.
"C'mon, let's get back to class."Jinx slammed Hansol up against the lockers, her eyes flashing.
"Don't you dare say a word to any of your friends until it's actually happened. Don't even mention my name. Got it?"
Hansol smirked.
"Why would I? Am I that mean? They'd slaughter you."
Jinx closed her eyes.
"Look, I don't---"
Hansol suddenly pushed her away and up against the wall, his hands blocking her in. He pressed his lips against hers and pushed in. Jinx's eyes snapped open, shocked. She froze, too scared to move. It was her first kiss. When Hansol finally pulled away, Jinx just stood there, swallowing.
"You should talk less...ow! What was that for?" Hansol yelped as Jinx slapped him sharply across his cheek.
"I told you! No kissing! You didn't even ask..." Jinx hissed.
"Aish, you're such an irritation." Hansol rolled his eyes. "You don't expect us to stay in abstinence, do you? They'll want us to do more at some point, you know? The whole point of an arranged marriage is so our "offspring" will be "perfect"."
Jinx closed her eyes, shivering. A tear escaped and rolled down her red cheek.
"I've never had a boyfriend...I never cry...but being around you makes me so weak...I can't even...I can't even fight back any more. I hate my mother for doing this to me..."
Hansol smirked, loving seeing her cry. She looked so beautiful and so weak, it made him want to do so much more to the innocent teenager.
"Oh, relax~. We won't act like a real married couple. Do you honestly think I'm okay with this?"
Jinx blushed.
"I...no...of course not..."
"Stop pretending you're the only one who's being forced into this. If I don't marry you, I'm not allowed to carry on with my career. I can't carry on doing what I love. So don't wreck this." Hansol snarled.
"Don't speak to me like that." Jinx snapped, getting angry.
"I'll speak to you however you like. Until you learn some respect and manners, I'll treat you the way I want. Got that?" Hansol snapped, before turning on his heel, and walking off, smirking and his eyes sparkling.
Jinx watched him go, her heart pounding.
"I hate you, Kim Hansol..."
