It was not long ago when she dined with this man infront of her at the same table. It was only 4 days to be exact. She sat there quietly, pondering how fast change came to her life. At the same time she observed.
She stole fleeting glances at him as to avoid getting caught.
'Pretty' she thought.
He was an undeniably charming pretty boy.
She was attracted to him without a doubt. But how can she admire him when she has to treat him like a brother?

She can't get used to it. It was sudden and absurd.
Barely a month ago her mom decided that they would move in to her short-time-boyfriend-of-six-months' house. When she told her, there hasn't been a query, it was a mere announcement of the move. She also told her that there was a larger number of clientele in her new branch which was located nearer her boyfriend's place which she needs to hands-on manage. It was a convenient decision too since his home was only 20 minutes ride to her school and 30 minutes ride to city proper.

She could not believe it. Her mom was never an impulsive decision maker until that very moment. No, actually it was until--boyfriend. Her mom's boyfriend was changer, he was the first one her mom dated after his father's death, they dated so soon and everything else was made in short cut. All she knew now was her mom's mad about him.
In all honesty, she had always been happy for her, but she felt hesitant about the move.
She barely knew the guy. All she knew was he was an engineer that her mom met for work. They hired him when the renovation of the building space of her mom's review and tutorial center was ongoing.

She only met this boyfriend about six or eight times and it was everytime she goes home from school, which is by the way a three-hour ride from home or the days she visited the review center.

So, it was a shock when one day she was introduced to her already boyfriend.
Another thing she knew, was he had a son. Though given that they lived near her school it was still a surprising coincidence that he also studied there. She never met the son though.
Her mom and his boyfriend had atleast arranged a couple of dinner dates with them--the children. But he never showed-up. It was assumed like an unspoken disapproval, or a form of hostile rebellion against his father's affair.

Now sitting adjacent to him, she thought how could he even bare this?
