Audrey

"Hi, I'm Audrey. Audrey Edmund not Audrey Hepburn. Though, I'd like to be her. She got to die until she was old. Well, right now I'm here filming myself for this project in English and you, my viewers probably know that project. So I'm 14, although I go to Grade 9 because my parents thought that, the earlier the better. The early bird catches the worm, right? And I live here in Oakwood Park, obviously. So, meet my little brother here..."

The video was playing alone. I left it playing, there must be traps around. I felt like I was in that scary place at the amusement park where Luke held a surprise party for me. Sweet, you might say but no. He did it at the scary place (a.k.a the-place-that-should-not-be-named). And I did embarrassing things in front of our friends. And when I say friends, I mean all of my classmates in 6th grade.

So, here I am (alone) at the house I've known for 15 years... wait I don't think it's 15. It's-

"Happy Birthday!" they shrieked at my face. Not actually shriek but I just feel like it's shrieking.

I did one thing that came into me, usually.

I screamed. and jumped.

"Easy, easy girl. Calm down. Inhale, exhale." Luke said while trying to stop himself from laughing. I did what he told me to. Inhale and exhale for a lot of times.

"I'm not a horse. Okay." I said, frowning.

"Well, you gallop like one." he laughed.

"Oh, so it's Make Fun Of Audrey Day now? Some friend you are." I said, enjoying our petty argument.

"Yep."

"Well, I'll go to my room then and you guys have fun here." I pretended to go up.

Luke held my wrist, it was sudden. I looked at his hand begging me to stay, then I stared at him. He looked a bit embarrassed by what he did. A minute must have passed when we broke our stares. I looked away and pulled my hand, he held it.

"Stay. I didn't mean to hurt you." he softly said.

"Accepted." I smirked to remove the awkwardness in the room, "Oh, and you'll make a good yoga teacher."

"Hey!"  The other guests were laughing as they went to the dining room.

I needn't reply because my parents shoved him aside (yeah, harsh). You see, they divorced when I was 9, but they figured that they still love each other. So they are both dating, now. They'll get married next month. September.

We are all alone now.

"Happy Sweet 16, dear!" my mom said. She and my dad hugged me.

"Mooom. You know I hate those greetings. As if you being sixteen would make your life sweet." I said. They let go of me. They both looked at me, proudly.

"You know, Thomas. I'm proud of our independent daughter." she said as he put his arm around her.

"Well... I'm one of a kind." I said, grinning at them.
