The Beginning of Everything

When we arrived, it was PACKED.  Must be 'cause One Direction is performing.  We finally got inside the gates, and went straight to the concert.  It wasn't starting for about another hour or so, but Kayla wanted to get good seats.  We were in the front row and surrounded by crazed hormonal teens.

It was the worst and longest hour of my life.  When the concert finally started I was relieved.  Their voices are amazing, I found myself actually smiling.  I couldn't help but laugh when Kayla occasionally swore that Louis was looking at her during his solo in 'Little Things'.  The concert ended and all the girls around us pouted saying they wanted to see more.

"Hey, I want to go on the Ferris Wheel before we go." I said to Kayla.

"You know I'm afraid of heights, Payton." she whined.  I sighed.

"Fine.  I'll go by myself." I said.

"Sorry." she answered.

"It's okay.  Meet me here in about thirty minutes."

"Alright." she said shrugging.  And with that, I headed for the ride.  The line was surprisingly short.  I wasn't looking forward to riding by myself, but at least I get to go on it, right?  I was about to get on when the gates closed to the seats.

"What the?" I said and looked over at the ride operator.

"Sorry.  The maximum amount of people has exceeded." he said with a shrug.  I groaned and went back to line.  After ten minutes of waiting, it was finally my turn.  I sat in my seat and the ride almost began, until the ride operator escorted a boy to my seat.

"Umm...hello." he shyly said after the ride started.  He was handsome, if I must say so myself.  He had curly brown hair and green eyes like mine, but a little lighter.

"Hello." I said with a smile.  He looked familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it.  "What's your name?" I asked.

"Harry.  Yours?" he asked.  I knew it!  He was in that band Kayla loves.

"Payton." I said as we shook hands.  His hand was so soft and fit perfectly into mine.  It was as if he completed me....

"Do you.....umm know who I am?" he asked locking his beautiful eyes on mine.  I nodded.  "Your not going to freak out?" he asked a little shocked and confused.  I smiled and shook my head.  "Hmm, weird." he said stroking his imaginary beard.  I giggled.  "I saw you at the concert." he said as I blushed.

"Well, I was sitting in the front row." I said with a laugh.

Harry's POV

I looked at the beautiful girl beside me.  She was....different.  Different from other girls that I see.  Usually, girls are dying to meet me.  Payton on the other hand, wasn't even freaking out.  We have been talking for a while.  It was as if we were best friends already.  We've been trying to get to know one another.

"So who would you want to be with if you were stranded on an island?" she asked with a smile.

"You." I said looking down as I felt my cheeks get hot.  I looked up to see her blushing uncontrollably.

"Really?" she asked looking at me.  Her eyes were just drop dead gorgeous.  They were a dark green with specks of blue in them, I could get lost them forever.  Her brown hair was in natural loose curls that fell right in place.  Her smile was amazing and so sweet.

"Really." I said with a slight smile.  I cleared my throat.  "Umm, w-what about you?" I asked.  Usually I was never shy with girls.  But, Payton just made my heart beat accelerate with every word she spoke.

"Hmm, probably.....my dog." she said with a smile.  My heart stopped.

"Oh.  That's...umm...c-cool." I said scratching the back of my head.  She started to burst out laughing and shaking her head.

"You....Are....So.....Adorable!" she said in between laughs.  "I was just joking Harry!"  I felt my cheeks get even hotter.  "I...Don't even have a dog!" she said still laughing.  I laughed an unconvincing laugh and shook my head.  This.  Was.  Awkward.

"S-So, who would you choose?" I asked.  She paused and thought for a moment.

"You." she said blushing.  I smiled and stared into her eyes.  The ride sadly ended and we got off our seats.  She was about to walk away, but I grabbed her hand, surprising her and myself.

"Uh, um, well, can I have y-your number?" I asked nervously.  She smiled angelically.

"Only if you give me yours." she winked.  I chuckled and shook my head.

"Fine with me." I said while I took out my phone.  She put her number in mine, as I did hers.  We waved goodbye to each other before she walked away.  I watched her disappear into the crowd of people.  And when she was gone, I felt my heart drop.  But flutter at the same time.

I knew this was only the beginning.
