As soon as the bell rang, I jumped from my seat and practically ran to my locker. I quickly packed up and left the school, walking to lukes.

I hope he likes me, I hope he wants to be my friend. Not alot of people want to be friends with the mute kid.

I walked up to his door and fixed my glasses, knocking on his door softly. He instantly opened the door, smiling widely

"Come in" he walked into his house and led me up to his room. It was so..... teenage boy. My room doesn't have posters of guitars or anything. Just a bed, a dresser, a desk and a window.

"You like it?" Luke asked, referring to the posters I was staring at.

I nodded quickly, and looked around some more. His room resembled him so perfectly. He has music stuff everywhere, a skateboard that looked untouched, a few trophies from kid sports, and a bunch of beanies scattered around his room.

"So what do you want to write the story about?" Luke asked, plopping himself down on his bed.

I awkwardly sat on the edge, picking up my sketchpad once again.

He said he wanted something involving current issues in our society. Maybe lgbt+ discrimination, about a gay couple that are polar opposites, but love each other.
I've never written so fast in my life.

"That's actually a really cool idea!" Luke beamed. "One of them could be all sporty and the other one could be all artsy!" His voice squeaked a little when he got excited. He's so fucking cute. Why can't the cute ones be gay?

But he liked the idea.

I can't believe he actually liked my idea!

I nodded to signal I agreed, and I crossed my long legs, pulling out my notebook.

"So it could start with like, the artsy one being new and he comes to the school and the sporty guy takes him on a walk around the school and then they kiss and the sporty one invites the other to the football game and then when he wins he romantically runs up and kisses the little artsy boy"

I've never heard luke speak so fast.

It was kinda cute to be honest, I giggled a little at how eager he was. I quickly realized that the "giggle" came out lile a squeak, causing me to quickly cover my mouth, hoping luke didn't notice.

"No no, don't be embarrassed" Luke said, casually removing my hands from my mouth. He's so fucking cute.

Luke sat down beside me and whispered "how come you don't talk?"

I looked at him, how he was not trying to upset me, but just understand. I sighed and wrote down:

When I was little, I was a bubbly person, talking to almost everyone. And then once my parents started arguing, once my siblings started ignoring me, I became very closed off, chasing all my friends away. Then my very last friend, the only one who stayed, died. So I just stopped wanting to talk. And ever since then, I've forgotten what it's like to speak.

I know I only just met luke, but I feel like I can tell him anything.

I didn't even realize I was crying until luke wiped a tear from my cheek. "Hey, it's ok. I'm sorry to hear all that happened to you, but you have me now. And I won't let anyone else hurt you." Luke said in such a calming tone, I just collapsed in his lap. He didn't mind, he just pet my curly hair.
"If you don't mind me asking, why did your siblings and family start ignoring you?"

I tensed up, panicking on the inside. I can't lie to luke, but how's he gonna feel when I tell him I'm gay? He's never gonna talk to me again, he'll think I'm weird.

"It's ok ash," I blushed at the name. "You can tell me anything, I won't ever judge you or leave you"

I slowly picked up my book and with shakey hands, I write:

They found out I was gay...

Luke read it and sighed, hugging me tightly. "Ashton I'm so sorry they didn't accept you, but I'll always be here" he carefully picked me up and held me so I was sitting on his lap with my head in his neck. I never felt more safe, but I knew luke was just being nice. He had no feelings toward me, at least not like that.

Why are you so nice to me?

"because, I feel like even though we just met, it feels like I've known you for ages. That's the type of feeling I don't want to let go"

Luke was so fucking adorable. He cared about me, and I'm so glad I have someone like luke who will love me.

I mean.... not love. He's not gay, but in a friend way.

I knew that as a friend, I have to try and make him smile like he does with me. So, I muster up all my courage, and look up at the tall, beautiful boy.

"L-Lu-" I struggle to make the sound.

"L-Lu-ke" I squeak. I managed to say Luke's 4 letter name, with only a bit of a stutter.

I look up at him once again to see his expression, and he has the biggest smile I've ever seen any boy have.

"You said my name!" He beamed. I knew I couldn't say a while sentence so I pick up my book

I wanted to try and say your name, I wanted to see you smile

Luke wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tightly, kissing the top of my head

"You have a beautiful voice, ash"

I smiled and curled into his chest, and we started writing for our English.
