"Clarke, please, I'm fine." Lexa says as she grabs the bloody rag out of Clarke's hand, setting it down on her thigh.
"No you're not Lexa, Roan hit you pretty hard. I-..." Clarke pauses, looking at the wound on Lexas right temple,"..I was really worried about you." She grabs the wet rag off of Lexas thigh and sets it on the night stand, her room was glowing with candles. Clarke turns and sits next to Lexa on her bed, whispering, "I didn't think that you could win." Lexa looks down at her bandaged hand and smiles.
"I'm sorry for everything Clarke." Lexa says as she looks up at Clarke with sincerity and hurt in her eyes, "Everything." She leans over and kisses Clarke on the cheek. Both of them are shocked and unable to react. Lexa quickly stands up, straightening. "I'll see you tomorrow, Ambassador." Clarke is still frozen as Lexa walks to the door, but she looks up right before the door closes, to find Lexa smiling at her.
8 Hours Later
"Heda, listen to me. Clarke is endangering this situation." Titus says as he walks over to Lexa, resting his hands on the balcony railing. It was just past dusk, the sky was a crisp orange, and made it seem like polis was glowing.
"She is doing what is right for her people Titus," Lexa says as she turns to him, immediately noticing the concern on his face, "There is nothing to worry about." Titus closes his eyes and turns away from Lexa, letting out a sigh and shaking his head.
"This is going to kill you. You know that," He turns back to face Lexa again, "don't you, Heda." She looks out towards her capital, and nods slowly.
"It doesn't matter if I live or die. My spirit-"
"Your spirit is foolish Heda! You don't know right from wrong, you don't know anything anymore, that girl is putting everything at risk!" Titus snaps, "Forgive me," Titus says, letting out a calming breath. "but you need to realize that Wanheda is effecting every single one of your decisions!" Lexa faces Titus with a burning rage in her eyes, it's clear that he twanged a heart string .
"Clarke isn't effecting anything. You are my subject, you listen to me and you support me." Lexa says, her hand resting on Titus' shoulder. "You need to trust me." Titus looks at her with sorrow in his eyes, he recalls the last time Lexa acted like this, and the result.
"I just don't want to see you hurt again heda, that's all."
"Clarke," Lexa says quietly, her jaw setting. "isn't Costia. I won't allow anything happen to her, I will protect her with my life, as will the next commander."
"I don't want there to be a next commander. You're the wisest, and the strongest that I've ever served." Titus said with complete and utter sadness. "I can't handle another conclave, I won't." Lexa smiled at her flamekeeper, her hand still on his shoulder. He looked up at her with worry in his eyes.
"My time will come, and when it does, you will accept it and continue to serve my spirit. I trust you will do this Titus, I trust that you will continue to serve the commander, and I trust that you will keep Clarke safe." Her voice wavered, and Titus noticed. He needed to keep her alive at all costs...all costs.
"Yes heda." He said, and left her on the balcony, unsure of what he was about to do. As the door closes, Lexa lets out a breath that she didn't realize she was holding, and closes her eyes. She deeply inhales and open her eyes, determination dead set on her face. She heads out the door, and swiftly maneuvers to Clarkes room, but Clarke isn't there.
