Great I spilled my coffee on my new blouse. Great way to start the morning. Driving in my Toyota Camry eating the granola bar I grabbed on my way out of my condo. The best part of living in New York City is the lovely morning traffic! I'm not a city girl moved to the big apple from South Carolina. You can tell I'm a country girl all of my country attire I have in my closet. So I'm sitting in my car, with a stained blouse, growling stomach, and the sun beaming in my face. What a wonderful morning, 8:17 am stuck in traffic listening to Kiss Fm ramble on. I knew that moment I was gonna be late for my first day as a secretary at the multi-million company office of Vague Nationwide. The young, wealthy handsome CEO, Evan Klyde, was gonna be right behind my desk in his office. I was excited to work with a handsome, intelligent man, who also is a multi-millionaire. I prayed he wasn't an asshole.
I parked my car in the parking garage across the street from the building and I ran to the entrance. I started at 8:45 this morning and it was 8:43. I had literally no time to get there, the office is all the way on the 12th floor. I scurried into the elevator and jabbed the 12th floor button a ton of times, hoping I'd get there faster. The elevator took forever and I finally got to the 12th floor at 8:48. I sped and got to the front desk. I smiled at the lady who glared at me. "I know I look like complete shit, it's been a long morning." I spilled. She glanced back at her computer. "You must be Kelsey Harmon?" She asked with a fake smile. "That's me." I responded and gave her a quick grin. She rolled her eyes, "Your late." She stated the obvious. She picked up the phone and pressed a dial and held the phone to her ear. "Mr. Klyde. Yes. Kelsey Harmon is here." She paused. "Oh okay I'll sent her back." She sat down the phone. "Mr. Klyde will see you, go straight back to those big clear glass doors." She instructed. I didn't even say thank you but I walked back there.
I opened the huge doors and Mr. Klyde was on the phone at his desk. "Yes I told Erik that last Tuesday." "Have the files in by three pm tomorrow." He set the phone down, "Take a seat." He said pointing at the chair in front of his desk. I sat down and looked around his office, it was spacious and plain. "Kelsey." He looked at me. "That's me." I responded. "Your my new secretary." He flipped through a file. "Yes." I nodded. He looked at my blouse. "Spill coffee?" He asked. I looked down at my blouse, "Yeah I did. Embarrassing right." I blushed in embarrassment. "Make sure you don't spill anymore coffee on you, doesn't look professional." He said. "Sure." I said. He glanced at me and sighed, "All your materials are on your desk." "Sheila will show you to your desk." He added. He got up out of his chair and and walked out of his room.
I looked for Sheila, Evan didn't mention who Sheila was. I went back to the front desk, "Are you Sheila?" I asked. "Yeah." She responded and rolled her eyes, "So are you gonna show me my desk?" I asked . She pointed to the desk In Front of Mr. Klyde's office. The phone rang, "Vague Nationwide Office, this is Sheila how may I help you today?" She spoke to the phone. I walked for my desk and it consisted of a phone and a desktop computer. There was a compartments and a file cabinet behind the desk. I set my things on the desk and sat in the chair and began to organize everything. There was a piece of paper which had information for me to log on the computer, username: kelseyharmon631 password: 145678954. I logged on. There were already other papers on my desk, I started with one which read,
I need four copies of a chart which consists of the service and gross product of Vague's sales and merchandise sold in the past year. The information for this should be in the history statement.
This will be due by the end of the week to my office. Use Microsoft word to create the bar chart.
Make phone calls to all of these corporate offices to make sure they will buy more of our product & when the next shipment will be.
