It had been a month and still not a trace of Gilbert. It was like he never existed. No trace of what could've happened to him. This worried Ludwig immensely.

A few days later

There was a meeting so he decided to ask.

"Have you seen Gilbert at all? He has been gone for days. He just disappeared."

"No." They all replied. Everyone telling the truth except for one particular person. Yao. In fact, Yao saw him just a few days ago.

It was just like any other day at Yao's house. Boring. He just sat there on the floor trying to figure out what to do. Until there was a knock at the door. He wasn't surprised to see it was Gilbert.

"Is this about the wings?" He simply asked unsurprised by the nod he got. He sighed. "Alright come in." Gilbert came in almost relieved at the fact that Yao knew. "What is it this time?"

"I'm going to trust you with some information that you can't tell anyone unless necessary."

"What is this information?"

"Out of fear of everyone finding out I'm going into hiding."

"That's understandable. You don't want anyone to get hurt."

"I hate carrying this damn burden."

"You think you have it bad? I've had it for over 4000 years!"

"You have a point."

"Anything else?"

"No, I just needed someone I could trust and you're my best choice."

"Well, good luck on being a coward."
Gilbert chuckled as he let himself out.

It was an odd choice but fair enough. It wasn't like Yao hadn't done the same before. Hiding was just the best way to keep people safe when paranoid about such things even if it was cowardly. He knew where Gilbert had gone. There was really only a few places to hide.

The meeting ended and he walked out to the back of the building making sure no one was following him. Personally, Yao thought Gilbert was an idiot for going to the roof where he was exposed. Yao was smart enough to know how not to be seen. Sighing with pure relief, he let out his wings. Joy filled him as he stretched them out.

With a running start he jumped and pulled himself into the air. He flew quickly then slowed down when he was high enough to basically touch the clouds but enough to see the ground. It had been a long time since he had used his wings. He never really found a use for them after that one time.

He flew for what seemed like hours until arriving to his destination. A secluded forest with a single cabin standing alone. The only place to hide. He walked into the house.

"You came here earlier than I thought." Yao heard looking to Gilbert who had seemed semi-surprised.
