All that training and late night homework has finally paid off. You couldn't believe that today was the day!
The day you become an Avenger!
You knew everyone on the team and their frequent assistants or 'helpers' (Spiderman). But that information was only on files. You've never met them in person. Or at least not all of them.
You've met Steve, Natasha, and Clint. Which is understandable considering that they were SHIELD agents and would come into base frequently, but now you get to meet the rest and become part of the team.
You were completely giddy and couldn't help but throw a heel click here and there (even if you fell down 78% of the time).
What you didn't know is that the Avengers were actually waiting to meet you at base instead of you meeting them at the tower. So...as you were happily heel clicking your way (more like falling) to the entrance of HQ you found out, much to your dismay, that they were all waiting there to meet you. And as you did one last heel click, you fell, one very bad word rolling off your lips.
All eyes were on you.
You were the spotlight.
"FUUUU-" Thud.
Ow.... You dully think, wiping the hair from your face as you slowly pull yourself up off the ground. You were just about to be thankful that nobody saw that when you heard a snicker. You groan internally and look up, your eyes meeting a pair of blue-gray ones.
"You all right doll? That looked pretty painful." A worried, yet amused, voice said. You instantly melted into the sweet sound of his voice and the way he made 'doll' drawl out...
'Absolute perfection', you think.
More laughter snapped you back to reality and you blushed fiercely as a pair of strong arms hauled you off the ground. "So you're the new girl, huh?" You blush and look up to see the rest of the Avengers, Bucky near your side still holding on to you.
"Olivia, isn't it?" You heard Tony ask. You were so surprised when he said your name that you just stared at him with an open mouth.
'AAAAAaaaahhhhh...he knows my name...' You faintly think.
Now, mentally you were a panicking chicken with its head cut off, but visually you remained motionless and dumb looking.
"Uh, you okay there ma'am?" Steve asked, eyebrows knit together in concern.
You slowly nod and realize you're gripping Bucky's arms and bit tight and decide to release them. "Uh...um...S-so sorry for that uh...yeah." You step away from Bucky and towards the team, smoothing imaginary creases from your shirt and pants. "Yes, I'm Olivia, the new recruit." You look down a bit embarrassed and mumble. "I thought you guys were waiting for me at the tower..."
Some of them laugh a bit and then Natasha steps forward and says. "Ah it's fine, you recovered quite well from the fall in my opinion. If it was Clint he would've be throwing a tantrum. Am I right Laia?"
A beautiful woman (a familiar shield agent you've seen around with Clint) next to Natasha then nodded, smiling mischievously at Clint who was now pouting.
"So not true Nat! Take it back." Clint cries, crossing his arms. "Laia, baby, tell her to take it back."
You all then laugh at Clint as Laia humorously shakes her head and says, "I think it's time for Clint's nap."
