Shane's POV:
I hooked my leg around the drain pipe and repositioned my gun, the one I hunted called Reese Everett moved through the house that belonged to one of The High Ten. I’d been hanging from the balcony drain pipe for 45 minutes and in that same time I’d called for backup and no one turned up. I could think of better, warmer places to be my bed for one but he needed to die he’d killed 3 of The High Ten already and the house belonged to his latest victim, Robert Williams had been killed an hour ago and I’d tracked the fucker down. I used my free hand and pulled myself up just enough to see Reese looting the Ikea furnished house. I looked down when I heard a twig snap. My back up had arrived; Spike Spiegel was dressed in all black.
“Oi” he whispered up to me “That’s dangerous you know” he grinned and started to climb the pipe next to the window on the other side.“Well no shit Sherlock” I whispered turning my attention back to what Reese was doing. If I had my way I would have shot him by now and would have been back at home within the hour, but I had to see if he’d lead us back to his boss.
Reese’s POV:
Reese’s phone rang and it nearly made him fall over his boss Jackson had called him 20 minutes ago to see if the job was done and now he was calling again, but still a smile pulled at the edges of his lips.
“Yes?” Reese asked, he didn’t like it here the furniture was too modern for his taste but he had found a few hundred dollars in the old man’s draws next to the door and a set of keys to a Mercedes that had to be parked in the garage underneath the house, he also didn’t like the feeling he was getting it was like someone or something was watching him.
“Good to know your still alive” Jackson said, ever since Reese was recruited into Jackson’s hollow he had felt like he’d finally come home.
“Yes, I’m still alive” Reese smiled at the thought of going back to the Hollow and see Jackson.
“Come back to the Hollow” Jackson said and Reese’s smile grew bigger “and be quick about it” Jackson hung up. Reese looked around, the being watched feeling had kicked up a notch. Was there a camera that The High Ten had set up or was it something else he thought. Reese strolled over to the balcony and looked around nothing but shadows, maybe being paranoid was a normal reaction after you killed someone of high rank, Reese shrugged his tank shoulders and pulled down his size one to small grey shirt back over his abs and walked to the front door, he just fit though the frame and slammed the door shut, the sound sliced through the night. It was only a few blocks to the hollow, but he had to go through the sewers, the sun was coming up and the Syndicate would send Shane and Spike and if Reese saw Spike He’d kill him. Reese opened one of the manhole covers and jumped down.
Shane's POV:
We’d jumped down from the balcony and followed Reese keeping to the Shadows and my voice low, I called Rex Denver the Syndicate Enforcer Department’s (SED) boss, one of the two people I liked that was in charge of the Departments.
“Denver Speaking” Rex asked his voice gruff from years of smoking came down the line, a smile edged its way across my lips, and he’d always reminded me of my dad before he died.
“Hey boss man” I said, Spike opened the man hole we’d just seen Reese go down a minute ago.
“Oh Dear god, it’s a miracle” Rex gasped, I never check in when I’m on a hunt, they usually think that I’m dead if I don’t check in within a couple of days but Gabriel (my adoptive father) always sent out people to look for me.
“Don’t be such an ass” I said and looked down the man hole “I’ve tracked down Reese and am following him in the sewers, if he goes to the boss can I shoot or not?” Spike laughed quietly as he claimed down the ladder He knew I would have shot Reese even if I got told I wasn’t allowed to, I’d done it before.
