"Are these chains really necessary?" Ava huffed, glaring at the three men standing before her. "I mean, c'mon!"

Derek cleared his throat before facing the vet, Dr. Alan Deaton. "So? Any guesses on what she may be?"

Just then, two other guys walked in rather dramatically, having quite an entrance. "Scott and Stiles," she mused, recognizing them from school.

"Ava?" Scott asked, his eyebrows squinting. "Why are you chained up in the animal clinic?"

Ava rolled her eyes, before cocking her head towards Derek and Isaac's direction. "Ask them."

"Whatever," Derek says. "All I know is the animal attacks? They were all because of her." He turns to Ava.

"Now I don't know if you have some really serious financial problems that you don't have enough money to shop from the market or something, but who even eats deer's and coyote's?"

"Uh," Stiles interrupted, raising a hand. "Malia does."

Both Derek and Scott turned to the hyperactive boy, glaring.

"Not helping, right." he nods, biting his lower lip.

"Meat from the groceries aren't exactly fresh, Derek." Ava rolls her eyes before sniffing. "Ew, you too, Mccall? God, you guys smell like dogs!"

Isaac finally opened his mouth, an offended look on his face. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Wait," Deaton stops all of them from an argument. "I think I might have an idea on what she is."

"What?" Almost all of them (except from Ava, of course) said in unison.

"Don't you realize it? The enhanced senses, animal attacks that leaves them without a trace of their own blood, I mean, can't you see her eyes, Derek?"

"What can't I see?"

"Look at her eyes," he says to Scott, Isaac and Derek. "With your other eyes, as well."

Hesitantly, Scott counted to three before they revealed the colors of their eyes one by one. Isaac a bright yellow, Derek a cold steel blue and Scott, red.

"You're an alpha? How come I can't smell it?" Isaac asks, scratching the back of his neck.

"Not an alpha. A vampire." Derek stated.

"You already knew, though, right Derek? You just needed my confirmation."

The beta nodded curtly in response, crossing his arms over his chest. "Isaac saw her sucking a deer's blood."

It only took five seconds for Stiles Stilinski to burst out in laughter.

"A vampire? Are you serious?"

"Stiles, you're currently surrounded by supernatural creatures. Don't even start."

"Will this turn to a whole 'twilight' thing 'cause the ripping off of heads isn't exactly my cup of tea." Scott jokes, but the vamp wasn't amused.

Stiles had been playing around with Deaton's incision tools, and soon enough the scent of blood once again filled Ava's senses. She lets out a low growl, showing her red eyes and fangs. "Stiles, you cut your finger."

Deaton was quick to approach Stiles, turning to the three werewolves. "Watch her, her blood thirst can make her quite strong, at least strong enough to break free."

The three immediately encircled her, not keeping their eyes off of her.

"I'm fine," she huffed, retracting her fangs and changing her eye color.

"Yeah, well, we're not taking any chances." Isaac grinned sarcastically, showing his pearly whites.

"Isaac, provoking her will only make her stronger." Deaton says from the other side of the room, having been finished tending Stiles' wound. "Done."

"Can you just take these off before I have to break them?" Ava groaned, throwing her head back. "It's starting to irritate my skin. It is silver, you know."

Scott eyes her suspiciously before turning to the others.

"Go ahead. We can all protect ourselves, anyways." Derek sighs, rubbing at his arms.

"Uh, excuse me?" Stiles says. "Have you forgotten about the bleeding and very human guy over here? Because he cannot fight off a vampire."

"It's fine, we'll protect you."

"I won't hurt him, anyways." Ava stated before sighing in relief when she was finally ridded off of the uncomfortable cuffs. "I turned my back on human blood ages ago."

"How long ago was ages ago?" Isaac finds himself asking, still keeping an eye out for the girl.

"Like, a decade."

"Woah, how old are you exactly?" Scott's eyes widened in amazement, finally recalling all the myths about vampires that he had read when he was in eighth grade.

"I was bitten when I was fifteen." Ava smiled bitterly. "1995."

"So you'll stay fifteen forever?"

"No, something's changed, hasn't it?" Deaton answered for her. "You started to age."

"The dread doctors," she admits. She knew that these people recognized the black cladded scientists. "They injected something into me, this sort of silver liquid–"

"Mercury," Stiles cut off.

"Yeah, well since then I've noticed that I've been aging. It's like inside, I'm a vampire. But outside I'm normal. I age just like you guys."

"Is that such a bad thing, though? I mean, don't you want to at least have a small part of you to be normal? To not change school every semester so that no one would notice that you don't age?" Stiles asked, bowing his head down.

Ava furrowed her eyebrows, eyes in a wide-eyed glare. "How did you–"

"Yeah uh, Stiles here, has a habit of, uh," Scott tried to explain.

"He basically always snoops on all of the student's records. It's part of his paranoia and anxiety." Isaac mutters in a light tone, teasing Stiles.

"Ha ha, very funny." The sarcastic boy rolls his eyes at the beta before making a face. "What's with the scarf, anyway? It's 60 degrees out."

"Why do you always have a problem with my scarves? I can't keep count on how many times you've said that line." Isaac answers the not-so-nice remark.

"God, werewolves are such dumbasses." Ava suddenly says, not meaning for it to be heard by the three. Well, she forgot about the supernatural hearing.

"Hey!" the three werewolves complain at the same time, giving her a dirty look.
