Rey sat with her eyes closed, legs crossed and her head bowed. Something nagged at her uncontrollably as she meditated deep in the forest. He knew what I was thinking. How could he know what I was thinking?

Her mind went back to the battle field, hidden behind a boulder with Finn as they were attempting escape. "Do or do not. There is no try." She had thought to herself and Finn responded plainly with an encouraging tone saying that it was a good thing to live by and she had felt her heart stop.

From the moment she met him she had felt a deeper connection than she had with any other person (or odd life form) that she had ever encountered amidst the sands of Jakku. He was enigmatic, his past not matching with his personality. He was kind, gentle and deceptively brave. There was that much to him but there was something else.

"I feel it too you know." She opened her eyes to see Luke sitting down across from her. His face was worn with age and years of living on that god forsaken island. "Its like there is something more to the boy than just a troubled past. There are very few reasons why intensive training and years of propaganda wouldn't brain wash a gentle soul into committing the most atrocious of crimes."

"He heard me. On the battlefield he heard me remember what Master Yoda told you. But... I don't think I said it out loud..." She looked down, her palms resting on her knees. Luke furrowed his brow, looking seriously at her, questioning.

"You are sure of this?"

"Very, Master." Luke nodded and looked down, closing his eyes and wordlessly letting Rey know that he needed to be alone. The young Padawan gathered her things and headed back towards base.

"Rey!" She turned to see a grinning Finn who hurried over and hugged her, picking her up and swinging her. It were as if spending more than two hours apart were like an eternity to him. "You wouldn't believe what I did today!"

"What did you do?" She grinned and laughed quietly, looking at the excitement in his eyes as he took her hand and they started walking off the tarmac together.

"Poe taught me how to fly an X-wing! You should have seen it, it was so exiting!" He was nearly bouncing but Rey felt her stomach knot up in worry, the idea of Finn, her Finn, piloting scared her. Sure, Poe flew all the time. But he was Poe. "Best pilot in the resistance Poe."

"That's awesome, I'll have to see sometime." She squeezed his hand gently to which he responded with a gentle smile.

"How was your morning?" He inquired happily, eyes locked on her profile.

"I really only meditated. Nothing to spectacular." She assured him and he shrugged with a little bit of disappointment as they entered the door nearest where the higher-ups' living quarters were. Rey counted as a higher-up due to her status as 'Padawan' and her nearing towards a full blown Jedi. Finn often spent the night there and so he had a little drawer of his own. Now they were walking into her room and plopping down on the bed.

"Something is bothering you." Finn said knowingly. Rey knit her brow together and gave him a look.

"How would you know?" He smiled.

"Because I know my girlfriend." Rey blushed, still getting used to that. It made her very happy though, her heart skipping and stomach fluttering into butterflies. She was just about to retort but his strong arms pulled her in by the waist and started tickling her until neither of them could breath from laughter. When it died down Rey was sitting on top of him, resting her elbows on his chest. Finn leaned up and kissed her warmly.

"Now will you tell me what's wrong?"
