Ryan tried to drag the last note long but Sharpay ended up putting her hand over his mouth.

He gave Kelsi an 'I tried.' look
The audience applauded. They took a bow.

"Oh hi. Call me." Sharpay said to a member of the audience.

Ryan took off his fedora and threw it into the audience. Ms. Darbus walked onto the stage flanked by her assistant and Kelsi.

"Do you see why we love the theater, people? Well done. Ah, Troy Bolton, Gabriella Montez." Ms.Darbus called. for them.

Silence took over the theatre.

"Troy? Gabriella?" Ms. Darbus called again.

"They'll be here," Kelsi said frantically.

"Ok, Ryan you are here. Veronica Bolton." Ms. Darbus called.

"Veronica?" She called again.

"She'll be here," Ryan told her.

"The theater, as I have often pointed out, waits for no one. I'm sorry." Ms. Darbus said.

Kelsi made a face and ran off the stage.

"Well, we are done here. Congratulations to all. The cast list will be posted." Ms. Darbus announced.

Troy, Gabriella, and Veronica arrived

"Wait! Ms. Darbus, wait! We're ready, we can sing." Troy told her.

"I called your names, twice." Ms. Darbus told them.

"Ms. Darbus, please!" Gabriella begged.

"Please!" Veronica begged.

"Rules are rules!" She said sternly.

As the small audience got up to leave, the rest of the school poured into the auditorium.

"We'll be happy to do it again for our fellow students, Ms. Darbus," Sharpay whispered to her.

"I don't know what's going on here, but in any event, it's far too late." Ms. Darbus told them.

"Please Ms. Darbus," Ryan begged.

"We have not got a pianist." Ms. Darbus told him.

"We'll sing without a piano," Troy suggested.

"Oh, no, you won't. Pianist here, Ms. Darbus." Kelsi showed up.

"You really don't wanna do that." Sharpay threatened Kelsi.

"Oh, yes, I really do. Ready on stage." Kelsi said confidently.

A look of shock filled Sharpay's face as Kelsi stood up to her.
