Black Heist

I've heard that name at least twenty times in the past five minutes.

"They stole a painting at the museum by your apartment." My friend, Manny, announced.

"Mm? What painting?"

I returned my attention to him. I felt a little bad for zoning out but with him you really can't help it.

"Oh the Black Heist,"

21 times.

"Stole some random painting. I didn't think it was that popular so I don't remember."

I stirred my coffee and looked at the clock.

Two more minutes til' my lunch break ends.

"I find it really amazing and also terrifying at the thought of them being able to do that so easily. I mean, they must be a group of geniuses. You know?"

He looked up at me with his hazel colored eyes.

"Yep. Definitely." I nodded aimlessly.

Manny smiled a little and shook his white blonde hair out of his eyes.

"Oh look at the time. I gotta go. See you later?"

Manny nodded and his cheeks were tinted a slight pink. I frowned a bit.

"Are you getting sick? Go get some rest ok?"

He nodded again and got up to leave.

"Bye Jessica."

I smiled and waved good bye as he left the cafe.

I returned to the cashier, letting Amy leave.

"See you tomorrow Jessie! Don't forget to lock up!"

"I won't Amy! Bye!"

Amy waved before she exited the building.

"Well that's a strange way to wear a ring."

"It probably wouldn't fit her finger Ben." Someone tutted.

"Maybe so."

"Hello? You there?" Another person rudely asked.

"Sorry but I'm helping someone already." I said, turning to the group of men.

There were three men, one of which was shorter than the others with short black hair and electrifying blue eyes that looked almost surreal.

Another one was taller than him and had a brown curly mop of hair and deep emerald eyes.

The last boy was his height as well, and he had dirty blonde hair with the tips reaching his rich chocolate eyes.

All of them were fairly well built and extremely attractive.

"Go ask one of the other people working for help."

The blonde one glared at me.

"Woah, Ben, Logan's really glaring at her." The brunette one whispered to the black haired one, who I'm guessing is Ben.

"Um excuse me miss-" Logan turned his glare to the old lady I was helping. She immediately closed her mouth before speaking again.

"I-I'll just go ask someone else."

The poor woman walked off to one of my coworkers.

I sighed before turning back to them. "What is it?"

"Nice attitude." Logan scoffed.

"Clam it." I looked at the nicer ones. "What can I help you with?"

The brunette one bit his lip an his face was turning red.

"Just three black coffees please." Ben ordered.

Logan made a face before sticking his tongue out.

"Make that two black coffees and a lemon tart."

I walked off to grab the rude boy's tart and fill the cups. When I came back Logan was gone.

"Here you go. That'll be 9.67." I gave the brunette one both of the coffees and the lemon tart.

"Thanks." Ben smiled at me, his blue eyes twinkling. He handed me a ten dollar bill. "Keep the change."

They walked out of the cafe, presumably to where their ride friend was waiting for them.

Were they talking about my ring?

I slid the thick silver ring in between my thumb and forefinger.

My dad had given it to me when I was 13, 3 years before he and my mother died.

A few months after they had died, Black Heist began to steal. I think it's been around 6 years now but they've gotten more popular recently due to the fact that they were stealing more popular paintings.

Damn Manny. Now I'm thinking about the Black Heist you twit.

But why did they notice my ring?
