She didn't run into Jason again until lunchtime, she was sitting alone eating her sandwich, waiting for Jacob to get back. He had to run back to his locker to get some candy, he was feeling a little light headed. She didn't notice him until he sat down across from her, still with that same wide smile.

"Hello Emily." She didn't return his greeting and just ate in silence. There were alone at the table, not a single other person would even sit at the same table that Jacob or Emily sat at. Some of the others stopped and observed this new kid as he tried to communicate with the strangest girl in the school. "Are you gonna make me work to get you to talk to me?" He looked around, "How come your eating all alone?" She spoke after swallowing her food.

"They don't like me, and I'm not alone." She resumed eating. Jason looked around again, smiling at the people watching them.

"Huh, looks to me like you are alone. It also seems like they don't like me talking to you. Are you just antisocial? Or is there another reason they don't like you? I find you very interesting." She glared up at him, he was getting annoying.

"I am Not alone." He could tell he was getting to her

"Hey listen, I don't want to be a bother. I'm just curious is all." He continued to smile at her, his eyes shining. Jacob appeared out of nowhere and sat down next to Emily, he had a sucker in his mouth and a not too happy look on his face. He glared over at this boy talking to his sister, it was strange because no one talked to them, ever.

"Who are you?" He asked, no nonsense. Jason just turned his ever-smile over to Jacob.

"Me? I'm Jason, nice to meet you." Jacob continued his protective glare, Emily pitching in. Jason quickly noticed how similar they looked, their eyes were a dead giveaway. "You must be Emily's brother, twins? You look like it."

"I am. Why are you talking to my sister?" Jason laughed to himself.

"I'm just curious is all. How come nobody else even comes near you guys? They're all just watching even not happy that I'm speaking to you." He motioned his head to the others who weren't trying to hide the fact that they were watching them.

"Oh... Them? We don't concern ourselves with them. We are the way we are and if they don't like it, that's there problem."

"Just because our eyes are different and we may not be exactly normal, they believe that they have the right to judge." Even Emily, who was usually sort of quiet but innocent, had callus in her voice.

"Well I do hope you both don't think ill of me for being curious, some people find me intrusive."

"Well, I just hope you understand that we prefer to keep to ourselves. I would appreciate if you just left us alone like all the others." Naturally he was being protective, this Jason did seem a little too interested in his sister and he did not like it. For the first time in a long time, Jason let his smile fall.

"Well okay..." he was hurt, that much was obvious. He picked up his tray and moved away, leaving the twins to themselves. They on the other hand didn't mind hurting the very optimistic new boy, whatever it took to keep things as they were. They were able to finish their lunch in relative peace, then after everyone had cleared the lunch room they too left together. They moved slowly as Jacob followed Emily to her locker, the halls cleared themselves of the other students and then the bell rang, starting the next class. Emily gathered her things, neither of them caring much about being late to their next class, there were so few times they could see each other during school, they had no classes together besides lunch. In the empty halls they gave each other a quick parting kiss before heading off in their own separate directions, Jacob tasting of the cherry flavored sucker he was eating earlier.

Neither of the twins saw the Jason until the last period of the day, Jacob had him in his computer class. As before, the only empty seat available in the class was the one next to Jacob. In all their classes, if they weren't packed to the max, the others stayed to the other sides of the room, leaving an empty space around them. Jason made no move to speak to the brother of the one he was curious in, and neither did Jacob. Jason didn't smile either, he seemed to have lost his eternal smile since lunch, whatever kept him quiet. But if Jacob had known him better he would have known that Jason only was quiet when he was thinking hard about something. He did not know this however, so he made no move.

Once the final bell rang, Jason followed behind Jacob, keeping his distance in order to remain unseen. After placing his books in his locker, he was able to find Jacob again, he was walking toward Emily who was standing at a corner skidding her foot on the ground. Once she saw Jacob her face immediately brightened, he couldn't hear what they were saying to each other from this distance but they quickly had turned and were heading away from the school. Jason followed them, keeping behind corners and bushes. He didn't like stalking them, but when he asked the other students about the twins, every single person replied with the exact same thing, Them!? They're nuts, not only do they look weird, but they're always together. They don't talk to anyone other than each other, they live all alone with their older sister and don't follow any rules other than their own. They blow off everyone who tries to talk to them, so no one tries anymore. You should keep away yourself. This only made him only even more curious about them, these strange twins. The strange thing he noticed was that as they walked they were holding hands, and even from this distance he could tell it wasn't ordinary hand holding between siblings. Something was up with them and his ever curiosity was getting the better of him. They eventually headed into a house, plain with nothing strange about it, and that was the end of it. All their blinds were closed so there was no way he could even peek inside, so he headed home, starting to really feel like a stalker. He thought about Emily on his way home, this strange girl that no one but her twin brother even bothered with. Maybe if she had a friend... His smile returned. He wanted nothing more than to become her friend, perhaps more...

Jacob and Emily had gotten themselves under control enough to not fall on each other as they had did early on. Now they first did their chores and then spent their time together. Madison soon arrived home, and then the three siblings had their diner. After Madison had left and Emily had taken her shower, alone unfortunately. The twins sat together watching TV, then Jacob brought up what was on both of their minds.

"That Jason may end up being a problem, its obvious he likes you." Emily smiled at him.

"What? Getting jealous?"

"Of course not, I'm just being protective." He held her close, showing his point.

"Don't worry, it'll all work out. Besides you're the only one for me." They sat in each other's arms for a while, watching TV in the dim light. They then turned off the TV and got into their pajamas, then met up in Jacob's room. Jacob wore loose pajama pants while Emily wore a loose white button down shirt only partly buttoned, exposing both her chest and her panties. Jacob lay on his back with Emily laying over Jacob's exposed chest. Like they did every night, they fell asleep in each other's arms, finding more peace than most find in their entire lives while in the arms of their love.
