Chapter 8: New Student

It had been a few weeks since Madison found out about Jacob and Emily's relationship, and no matter how okay she was with it, it was still awkward when they were together. Life continued as usual, Madison working almost constantly in order to foot the bills and the twins going to school and then spending their afternoons together. So far Jacob had been able to hold off Emily and keep their promise to Madison. But it was only a matter of time before he broke down and gave her what she wanted.

This day began like any other Monday, the twins waking in each other's arms to their alarm clock. Then preparing for school and walking together, hands clasped until they came to the corner before the school. Keeping their actions hidden they gave each other a final kiss before going into the school.

Emily moved to her assigned seat of her first period class, Geography. Once the bell rang and everyone was seated, the teacher Mr. Arthur, a tall bald man who had the look of a wrestling coach, stood in front of the class.

"Morning Class, before we kick things off, we have a new student starting today. Come in and introduce yourself." he motioned and in walked a boy. He had spiky blond hair that frazzled in all directions, he also walked in front of the class with a wide smile on his face.

"Hello, my name is Jason." He looked amongst the faces of the class, all their eyes were on him except one pair, those of Emily who was currently phased out, just waiting for school to end.

"Well, you can sit in the only open seat in the back there," he pointed over to the seat he mentioned, the one to the direct left of Emily. Jason sat down and looked immediately over to Emily, he continued to watch her even as class began with that wide smile of his. It took a few minutes before Emily was able to come out of her phase to notice that she was being watched. She looked over to him, he was watching her with his bright green eyes shining with curiosity and something else that looked like admiration.

"What's your name?" he whispered, Emily didn't answer, he was sort of creeping her out with the way he was staring at her. She tried her best to ignore him as much as possible and he didn't say anything else to her for the period but he continued to watch her. The bell rang and the class came to an end, she was in the far end of the room so as she gathered her things, Jason was able to block her off and repeat his question.

"What's your name?" Emily looked at him for a minute, his eyes continued to shine so bright. "Is there a reason you won't tell me your name? You're a curious one, especially your eyes, I think they're beautiful." This compliment made her blush a little, no one ever had said anything good about her eyes other than Jacob or Madison. Her eyes were one of the reasons why all the others thought she was weird.

"Umm...I'm Emily..." She pushed her way past him and left him standing there with his wide grin and made her way to her next period.

"Emily" He repeated "She's a curious one."
