My breathing is heavy. I can feel my heart pounding. I'm looking every where trying to see something or someone just hoping it isn't him, but it's too dark to see anything. "Devan come out, come out where ever you are." My heart sank. I knew he was close, but I kept running. "A pretty girl like you shouldn't be out in the woods at this time of night. It would be a shame for you to get hurt." I came to a clearing; it was a small town. I ran to the nearest building, but no one was there. I saw a gas station. The lights were on so there had to be at least one person there, but when I peered aren't the building there wasn't a soul there.
"Is anyone here? Can anyone hear me? Help me please!" I see someone. I'm saved! "Hey you, sir, where am I?" He never turned around. I started to walk over to his chair. "Are you def or something?" It was horrifying. "What person is sick enough to do this to a living person." His throat had been slit several times; none deep enough to actually kill him on their own. His face had been cut to look as if he was smiling.
"Do you like my town?" It was him. I turned around and froze when I saw his face.
"Did you do this to him?" I felt a great deal of pitty for this man. No one deserved to be carved up after they died. I feared for my life; I knew I would end up like this guy, if not worse.
"Who? Him? Ah yes, poor fellow. Just a passer by who got caught in one of my little traps. Just as you did my dear." He had an extremely disturbing evil grin on his face. It would have made even the most cold blooded killer's skin crawl. He pulled a large knife out from under his cloak and lunged himself towards me. At first I didn't think he had cut me, but then I felt something wet running down my chest. He grinned with excitement at the sight of my bleeding throat. I started choking. I couldn't breathe. I collapsed to the ground holding my neck. "Sad to see such a waste of beauty." He shook his head. I was trying to yell but nothing was coming out. My vision started getting blurry then all of the colors of life faded and black filled my sight. There was but one thing I could think about, Rayne.
