Zayn woke up alone. It was only past nine o'clock and Harry must've already gone to the training. With a sigh, he sat up but smiled to himself anyways. The hybrid was trying so hard, he was doing his best.
He wanted Zayn to see him. He was visibly proud of himself and excited to have something to show off to his mate.
And so the shapeshifter quickly got dressed, grabbed something to eat and after a small talk with Louis, he made his way to the training field. Most of the training took place outdoors. There were various mannequins, those standing in place or moving. Some of the moving ones were steered, from what Zayn's heard at least.
When the raven haired boy stepped outside, both Liam and Harry seemed to be having a lecture of some sort. They were standing straight in front of a middle aged man in a uniform, that was unique for the hunters, and they were listening as the man gestured wildly.
The two truly looked focused and determined. They seemed to take every word to heart. Zayn was glad to see they cared so much.
The man stopped speaking just as the boy got close enough for Harry to see. The hybrid's face visibly lit up and he grinned widely at the raven haired lad. Liam smiled as well but he also rolled his eyes.
"Good morning," Zayn smiled softly and sent a playful wink towards Harry, making the boy blush. The hunter got nervous as soon as he made his presence known. It was pretty funny, "You can continue the training, I came to watch," he explained.
The man, Garrett (as the tag on his shirt said), widened his eyes slightly. He gulped and took a shaky breath, "I can assure you, s-sir, that we're, uh, doing our best to prepare them for the battle," he stuttered out.
Zayn chuckled softly, "I'm Zayn, okay?" He smirked, "And I don't doubt that. But I just promised Harry that I'd come. So here I am," he shrugged, "Act as if I'm not here," he stated.
Garrett took a breath and nodded. He let himself explain the weapons that Harry and Liam owned.
For the hybrid, it was silver knives. Small and short yet sharp. As Harry wanted, he was throwing them. He had to practice that, needing to make the sharp end stab right where Garrett told him to. Silver was the weakness of werewolves and so all of the weapons in there was made from silver.
Harry had also a bigger knife, just in case the enemy got too close and he had to fight face to face.
Liam was the opposite. He had a sword, a silver sword and it made the boy feel like a superhero. He was really excited to show his amazing sword and his skills. The boy had only a few knives to throw, just in case.
Both of them had guns with silver bullets. But those were really really expensive so there weren't many. And because of that, they all used the traditional methods with knives and swords.
After it all was explained, Harry was practically jumping up because he wanted to go first and throw his Sharpies at the mannequins. (Yes, he named the knives Sharpies).
Zayn was watching him with a smile on his face but it slowly disappeared as he focused on the way Harry's body language changed. He was like a hunting cat; attentive, eyes darker and muscles tense in the right places. His posture was slightly bent forward, legs open and ready to jump.
"Go!" Garrett yelled suddenly, startling Zayn but not Harry. The boy started running forward, straight onto an enemy, "Jump, neck!" The man yelled again and Harry followed the instructions, jumping up, over the mannequin and stabbing one knife onto it's neck while he was in the air.
Zayn raised his eyebrows. Impressive. He'd never thought that Harry would have a warrior in him. He seemed so innocent but yet, he was ready to kill.
"Next! Left!" Garret commanded, making Harry run towards the left side of the field. There awaited him a moving mannequin, "Side! Right!" The man yelled. This time, the hybrid got to the enemy slower. He broke into a sprint onto the left side but changed directions last second and successfully stabbed the knife into the right side.
Harry did a few more tricks, also without Garrett's commands and after that, he skipped to Zayn, grinning widely, "Was it hot?" he asked, taking the boy's hands in his own.
Zayn laughed softly, "Very," he smiled, "You were amazing. Really, I'm not just saying that," he squeezed the hybrid's hands, "You were right, you are so dangerous when you fight like that. Those uglies will regret ever stepping in front of you," he chuckled.
Harry seemed more than satisfied with that and he couldn't help hugging Zayn tightly. He was so proud of himself, even more since he's gotten all these nice words from the leader who also happens to be his mate.
Zayn returned the hug, squeezing the green eyed lad in his arms, "When you're having a break, you should come to me," he proposed quietly, "I'll be either in our room or library, yeah?" he slowly pulled away from him and smiled. Harry nodded vigorously and giggled happily, kissing his cheek before skipping away to get his knives back.
"Are you gonna watch me too, Zaynie?" Liam said in a high pitched tone, nudging Zayn as he appeared beside him.
"Nope," He answered simply, "You didn't ask me as nicely as Harry did," he nudged Liam back and soon, they were laughing and shoving at each other. Fortunately for Liam, Harry was in his own world and didn't come to rescue Zayn from him.
"You suck," The boy stated, "Go read your books, granny while I fight," he teased.
"Sure, sure, kiddo, respect the elders," Zayn chuckled and waved goodbye to both Liam and Harry before heading away again.
It was pretty fun. He should come and watch them more often. He could bring a book or two and work there as well. He hummed to himself, that seemed like a good idea. Maybe watching the fights could somehow inspire him and give him more ideas about the whole thing.
Zayn entered the building again and as soon as he took a few steps towards the library, he's heard Niall's voice.
"Zayn! Zayn! You have to hear this!" The blonde was jumping up and down which he really shouldn't and Zayn was about to scold him but he started talking again, "So the tigers, that pack, right? Their leader wants to meet you. And I'll go with you," he grinned widely.
The raven haired lad stared at his friend for a longer while before letting out a breath, "What? How come? Slow.. And more detailed."
"Me and Louis wrote a letter on your behalf as well as the whole pack's and asked for a meeting. We said we need support in a fight and that it's werewolves and we got a reply!" Niall shoved a letter in front of Zayn's face so he could read it. And so he took the paper and read it carefully, nodding slowly.
"Good job," Zayn smiled, "Though, I'd appreciate if you-"
"No, Zayn, I'm fine, I'm actually fine and I just need some exercise to get back in shape," He was cut off by his energetic friend, "I'm gonna join Li and H, so smell ya!" And he was gone.
"This lad..." Zayn shook his head and continued on his way to the library.
