"Do you see that Amy!" The Doctor cried out. His hands flailing around in the air with useless emphasis. Amy stood on a chair, a worn down broom swinging furiously in her left hand. The right hand covering her green eyes. "Clearly not Doctor, you twit!"
Amy's voice was filled with fear and frustration. Both Amy and the Doctor had been left in Amy's kitchen while the 'always missing from every scene when needed' Rory ran out in search for eggs. During such time while trying to find the baking soda the Doctor had come across a very upset mother rat. Who upon discovery had hissed once and pouched.
Landing not on its wished target of the Doctor but the hard tiled floor. The Doctor let out a wail as he ran over to Amy and clung to her tightly. It was Amy who had seen the rat and immediately knew the situation as harmless. Yet in all Amy's butch-ness she too was scared of the horrific rodent.
Clambering to the broom closet and grabbing her heroic weapon of choice....a dust broom.
It was now that the Doctor pulled out his sonic-screwdriver and smiled and evil smile. "My most trusted tool! Vanquish this fiend!" The doctor shouted, his eyes squeezed shut...totally not in fear, sending the poor terrified rat back into its dark whole in the kitchen wall. The Doctor opened one eye slowly. Then the next. Quickly scanning the room for the beast.
"It's gone Doctor." Amy said bluntly, hopping off the chair and returning the broom to its closet. The Doctor hesitantly followed Amy running to her the minute he touched the floor. Hugging her arm tightly. "Are you quite alright Doctor?" Amy said with a soft giggle.
The Doctor paused for a moment then cocked his head so their eyes matched up with one another. He scoffed "PSH!! Me? I'm chipper. Fine as fiddle! Completely...and utterly...FINE!" The Doctor said with his lacking acting skills. Turning away quickly to not look at her. Amy smiled. "Then why ya' holding my hand, Doctor" She said calmly with a wink.
The Doctor froze. His eyes widened as though he were a deer in the headlights. He let out a cough. "Well...I wanted to..." he paused thinking up so crazy excuse. "I was escorting you to the closet, I mean my dear. There are horrific beasts in this kitchen, as we just say." Amy laughed. "Alright you dope. Thanks for being such a knight in shinny armor." She said sarcastically.
The doctor smiled his cheeks revealing a pink hue. "Let's put a break on the cake shall we." Amy said with a smile. She calmly walked towards the washroom. "Don't wait up." She said with a hearty laugh. The Doctor giggled lightly as he watch her walk farther from him. Something hit his heart as he watched her go. But he brushed it off.
Amy was with him and he felt in his heart that wouldn't change for a long time as long as he was there for her.
