The brunette teen felt the cool air meeting her skin as she stepped inside her local pub that, thank god, had put the air condition full on. It was yet another surprisingly hot and beautiful summer day in England, something that didn't happen all too often.
Kate made her way to the counter and soon a woman behind it noticed her, and almost immediately a beautiful smile spread across her face. "Hey sweetie, he's upstairs!" Anne, the land lady who also happened to be Harry's mum, informed her.
The girl thanked her and walked behind the counter to make her way upstairs. She walked throught the small space for employees and up the stairs she had learnt to know oh so well. To the back of the small hallway and one turn left and she was where she wanted to be. A knock on the door and few seconds later she saw the curly haired boy smiling at her.
"Hey babe", he greeted her with a kiss on the corner of her lip as he pulled her in for a quick hug.
Kate blushed a little and couldn't help the butterflies in her stomach as she hugged her quite a lot taller boyfriend. She loved it when he called him babe even though she wasn't that much of a fan of those pet names couples gave each other. Harry just made it sound so good.
She wasn't used to the idea of them as a couple yet either. They had been together for a month now and they had been spending a lot of time together due the fact it was still summer, even though it was only a few weeks before school would start again.
"Harry", Kate muttered as she sat down on the boys' bed, next to him. Their thighs were touching and she felt a small shiver going up and down her spine - he made her feel so good and weird at the same time, everything was so new to her.
"Yeah?"
"Are we going to stay like this when the school starts?" she asked and looked at the black carpet on his room's floor. She couldn't help but think of that one night when they were lying there all cuddled up, just talking and enjoying each others company.
"What do you mean?" Harry looked confused and he furrowed his brows, gently putting a piece of Kate's hair behind her ear and looking at her, waiting for her to make eye contact.
Kate looked up and her eyes met his green ones. She sighed and smiled a little. "Nothing", she whispered and kissed the boy she had grown really fond of. Was she in love with him even?
They sat there on his bed kissing for a while but they were being interrupted as someone opened the door and walked in. Kate jumped, trying to get a bit further from him - they were at his and she would probably feel a bit awkward if her mum walked in - but Harry was holding her so she couldn't really make the escape. Thank god, Kate thought as she saw it was only Louis smirking by the door frame.
"Did I interrupt? We can come back later", he said with a cheeky grin plastered on his face. Kate saw Maddie trying to hold in a giggle behind her boyfriend and blushed even more. She wasn't really one to do the whole snogging thing in public and this was one of the few times they had "been caught". Yes, it was completely normal that couples kissed but still, it felt really private to her, especially when she still wasn't sure how to act around all the people in that village. She really wanted people to like her - not that they would hate her because of the golden boy Harry, who seemed to be loved by every single daughter, mother, grandma and even dad in the village.
"No, come on in", Harry smiled and loosened his grip of Kate a little but made sure to still hold her close. He was completely fine with them not sucking each other faces off in public (not that they would do that any way, Harry liked to think he was good enough of a kisser to avoid that), but he wanted to push her a little - now that school would start soon, he really wanted to show everyone Kate was taken, she was his. He loved showing Kate around because as insecure the girl was of herself, he couldn't find too many flaws of the girl. God, he loved even her flaws.
