Dear Emily,
You are somebody's reason to smile.
Their are days when I look at you and your smile is the only thing I see. Other times all I can see is a frown plastered on your face when you think no one is looking. I tried to find out why your smile had been turned upside down and as time went on I figured it out. You were never truly smiling.
I know what it is like to have a fake smile on your face ever minute of the day. To have that smile plastered on so you won't have to worry others and to prove you are strong yet on the inside you were waiting for someone to notice and tell you "stop it, don't smile if you can't." I've waited to hear those words too. Growing up before I met you I had a morning routine before school.
Paint a smile
Smile for awhile
No one will ever noticeI went by that for God only knows how long and I did it for the same reason you do. To show others you are strong and nothing is wrong. To not worry others. You feel selfish and feel as if others will think you are looking for attention. Let me tell you something just because you frown it doesn't mean you want attention or that everything isn't okay heck it didn't even mean you aren't strong. When you don't want to smile don't. Just don't because sometimes frowning shows how strong you really are. No one expects you to wake up with a smile and go to bed with it also.
What I am trying to say is that it's okay to not be happy and it's only to frown. So don't beat yourself up and fake it. If your happy your happy if your not your not. I know when it's real and when it's not because it can brighten a room. Your eyes slightly crinkle up and your dimples show. So please just remember you haven't lost your smile at all, it's right under your nose. You just forgot it was there.
Love,
