Chapter 2: Trip To Swellview

Courtney's P.O.V

     I wheeled my bike out front and headed back inside. I took my water bottle and some snacks for the trip. I put them all in a mini backpack and headed out. My bike was still there, fortunately. As I took a sip of water, I began peddling, and took off. I passed by the neighborhood looking at all the happy families enjoying their day. My family used to be like that. I was soon out of town.

   The peddling was so exhausting, really. But after forty minutes, I had finally reached the so called city of Swellview. The first place I saw was a gas station. I had a few bucks on me, so I parked my bike and walked in. The bell chimed. Not many people were around. An elderly couple was drinking some coffee, and a teenage guy paying gas when he should be at school.

     I looked around, and took a Snickers bar, a slice of READY-2-GO pizza, and an Icee.

     "Will that be all, miss?" The cashier asked me.

     "Yep," I replied. I took a seat at a nearby table and began to chomp down my pizza. Gosh, I was hungry. I also took small sips from my Icee once in a while. To finish off, I savored my delish Snickers bar. Snickers is literally my fave candy bar in the universe! I'm low key obsessed!

     I walked out of the gas station and sat on my bike seat. I took out my iPod and double checked where Junk N' Stuff was located. I peddled in the direction an got there in about seven minutes. I once again set my bike down on the cement sidewalk. I sighed to myself.

     Calm down, Courtney. You're just going to see your dad, it will be perfectly A-Okay. Now quit being foolish and walk the hell in there! Gosh, why you so nervous about girl? Whatever it is, quit it!

     I thought to myself. I slowly pushed the front door to the shop open and stepped in. I walked and looked around. I finally decided to call out. This place probably wasn't even open.

     "HELLO? Is anyone here? Is this place even open?" I called. A few moments later a blond kid about my age came from some sort of curtain thingy.

     "May I help you?" he asked dusting off some sort of weird plant.

     "Indeed, you can. What's your name?" I told him. He was now standing behind the counter.

     "Henry," he answered.

     "I'm here in Swellview for a very special reason," I explained.

     "Go on." The boy rubbed his hands together.

     "Today I'm here looking for Captain Man." His eyes widened and Harry -I think- looked around the room.

     "Eh, sorry Miss, but uh, I don't know what your talking about. I have no clue whatsoever of where the Man Cave is located." He said in that voice where you can tell someone's lying. Henry -or Harry, I don't know- walked around the counter and stood in front of me.

     "So, um, you can leave now, bye!" The blond boy pushed me back towards the door but I stopped dragging my feet against the tiled floor and got a hold of his shoulders so he could stop pushing me.

     "Listen here, Harry-"

     "Actually, it's Henry." The boy spoke. I backed away from him, since we were way too close to each-other.

     "Okay, Henry, whatever! Anyway, you have no clue how long I've been waiting to reunite with my-" I got cut off, again!

     "Reunite?" He spoke.

     "Yes, now can you please stop cutting me off?" I was getting impatient now.

     "Fine, sure."

     "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" I heard a voice behind us. It sounded familiar.

     "Henry, are you making out with some girl again?" I then realized that the boy had stepped closer.

     "Uh, no sir!" Henry looked past me at whoever was behind us. I let go of his shoulders and took a deep breath. I then spun around.

     " Hi Dad." I smiled.

     "Dad?!" Henry was still confused.

     "Excuse me, I don't have a daughter." The man said.

     "Yes Ray, you do." I said.

     "No, unless -no way- Courtney?" Ray asked.

     "Yes Ray, it's me, your daughter." I paused for a sec.

     "I'm alive..." I grinned at him. All three of us were thinking the same thing, I knew for sure: NO WAY!
