Maria hadn't returned after two hours, but texted me a billion heart emojis and said she'd see me the next day. So I called up Oliver and asked him if he wanted to stay with me a bit longer and watch all the Marvel movies we could until I left and went back home.
I was out of the hospital the next day, which was nice, as I'd gotten super restless sitting in bed for that long.
The doctors said I was good to go, even though I'd have to stay in a wheelchair for a week and go to physical therapy for a month and a half so the damaged muscles in my arms and leg could heal properly and I could walk without serious pain.
I didn't like the idea of physical therapy. It was expensive and money was tight in our household. I didn't feel comfortable with the idea of someone helping me get better. I was in my own body. I could do that myself.
But I'd promised Mom, and I tried not to break my my promises. I was blissful and happy up until I returned home and had gotten settled back in my own comfortable bed, which is when I saw the paper Luke has left me. The paper felt like it was giving off heat, burning into me. I wanted to text him so badly, but thought of how busy he was and restrained myself. Despite what Cam had said, I was sure he'd forgotten me already.
I opened up my email with a reluctant sigh, pushing Luke and the paper to the back of my mind. It was flooded with requests, most stale and already taken care of, while some had blown up to be giant messes without my help.
I immediately felt terribly guilty and selfish. I should've been working on these cases in the hospital. I couldn't afford to take time off. It wasn't for me to decide whether I got a break or not.
Then there was the email from Maria. Four of them, actually. The first: READ NOW! IMPORTANT! Followed by: HAVE YOU READ IT? and NOW? and finally, READ THE ARTICLE EM AND BE GLAD THEY DIDN'T CATCH YOUR FACE.
I knew Maria meant business because it was all in caps. 90% of the time Maria didn't bother with capitalization.
But an article — that piqued my interest. I clicked on the original email.
My jaw dropped. I'd made the GossipPeeps front page--online and in print.
No way. This was bad. So very, very bad.
Even worse, the article was published by a real bitch of a writer, Kendra Anderson.
She made me want to kick something, and I wasn't a violent person.
Kendra had written something extra awful this time, too — a reaction to a blurry video someone had posted of me running onto the stage and taking the bullets. It was from taken far away, so it looked like I had no purpose. I was glad the whole thing went all blurry and dark and loud at the end. Not to mention, only my back was captured, so I remained anonymous.
Desperate Fan Throws Herself At Members of 5 Seconds of Summer
It's no news that 5 Seconds of Summer consists of attractive guys. Fans have been satisfied with their pictures, interviews and videos. There's always been enough to go around for the wild, band-crazy girls that flock them at airports and hotels.
5 Seconds of Summer — or 5SOS, as they're often abbreviated — have been on the road for Rock Out With Your Socks Out, their first headlining tour. Along with releasing a new song titled Permanent Vacation, this boyband and has been tearing up each concert they put on, leaving their dewey-eyed fans breathless. Recently, however, it doesn't seem to be enough to satisfy the screaming hordes of girls that attend their concerts.
While in San Diego, playing their concert in SleepTrain Amphitheater, an unidentified fan sitting in the front row managed to get up on the stage after injuring security and climbing over the fence. She then proceeded to charge at each of the band members in turn, who managed to avoid her by dodging or backing away. Calum Hood, the bassist, was not so lucky. He was tackled to the ground.
