Y/n threw her back against the wall, hot tears streamed down her face. In an attempt to wipe them away, she only smeared more blood to her already blood covered face. She let out a low sob and slammed the back of her head against the wall that was supporting her.
"Nate! Parker! Sophie! Hardison! ANYONE! PLEASE ANYONE!"
Her shouts were loud and caused the com-link in her ear to ring out in confusion. The feedback enraged her and she ripped the earpiece out and threw it to the floor. She placed her head in her hands and screamed out loud. No one was coming. She wasn't going to be able to save him. He was going to die in her arms, and there was no way to stop it.
"Y/n...."
Her head shot around to face the bleeding Eliot on the ground. She crawled over to him and smiled thru her tears. He grunted as she lifted his head and placed it on her lap; gently stroking his face. Her fingers ran over the stubble on his jaw, it felt wonderful. The warm blood on her hands left streak marks on his face but he didn't seem to care.
He smiled at her.
Really smiled.
She was one of the only people he ever smiled around. Their friendship had grown over the years and they were now closer than ever. To think just a few years ago she was just entering Eliot's life. He didn't think much of her at that point; just a scared little girl in way over her head. But now.......
"I'm not gonna' let you go okay? I'm gonna' stay h-here with y-you, and wait for some help. So please, for God's sake please, just stay awake a little longer!"
He reached up and held her face, "Y/n......sweetheart.....no one's c-coming....." She shook her head and pressed her forehead to his. She chanted the word "no" over and over.
The sun was starting to set on the horizon, and the dying sun cast a beautiful light on the two. Dust and small bugs flew in the air, illuminated by the sunset. The breeze blew thru the trees and caused Y/n's hair to dance all around her face.
The bad guys had fled.
It was just the two them now, sitting in a pool of Eliot's blood. His gun wounds gushed in crimson streams as Y/n held on to him, not wanting to let go. She looked into those beautiful blue eyes and her heart nearly broke. "I want to tell you something....."
Y/n looked down at him and kissed his forehead, "No don't talk.....Please.....You need your strength..." He shook his head and coughed, blood trickling down his chin. "You need to know something......Important....."
She stroked his hair, "What is it, Eliot?" She choked.
He reached up, once more, and held her face. The look in his eyes said it all. Y/n knew what was coming next.
"I'm not going to make it out of here...."
"NO! NO! YOU ARE! DON'T SAY THAT! NEVER SAY THAT!" She screamed interrupting him. She let her tears fall in red drops, due to the collection of blood on her face. She shook her head vigorously as the words left her mouth in harsh tones.
"Y/N! We both know it's the truth.... But I want to tell you that...." He winced in pain as he tried to sit up, Y/n helping him slightly.
"Y-Y/n......" His fingers rubbed her cheeks in small circles as he smiled. His teeth were covered in blood, but his smile was still sweet. "I l-love you...."
Y/n sobbed but smiled back at him. She pressed her forehead to his and held his face. "I love you too.... So goddamn much....." He laughed as he kissed her forehead, shaking slightly. He then leaned in and hugged her as tight as his arms would let him. She held on to him crying onto his shoulder, and gripped the back of his head in her hands.
She rocked back and forth gently as she began to hum a quite tune. He smiled and closed his eyes as he rested his head on her shoulder.
"You can let go......"
Eliot sighed, and took in one last sharp breath before taking her advice and letting go.
Y/n screamed as the sensation of his warm breath tickling her back cased. His grip on her loosened and his arms hung lip at his sides.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, NO, NO, NO!!!" She screamed as she held his face. "Eliot! N-No! P-Please! D-DON'T LEAVE ME! N-No! God no! El-Eliot!! No!" She shook her head and pressed kisses to his cold face.
With one last scream, that ripped her throat raw, she laid down on the ground next to him, curling around his broken frame. She held him close to her body and sobbed loudly.
Her screams rang out into the setting sun, as the breeze carried it out into the nothingness........
