Chapter 2

I sit on the bench outside of a Verizon store. Dahvie was getting me a cell phone so I could keep in touch with Jayy, if I wanted to. I most certainly wanted to. I sent him a friend request yesterday and he accepted. We have been talking and were super excited to see each other at Jeffree's. I couldn't wait to meet him. It felt like forever, but Jeffree's concert was only five hours away.

I catch the glance of a vampire at the store across from me. He stares at me, but shakes his head. I'm hoping he didn't realize that it was me. Every vampire was sure to know that I was dead. Or so they thought since I actually wasn't.

Vampires all have very distinct looks about them. You can tell someone is a vampire just based on their appearance and their movements. Their features are more broad and perfected. The movements are more fluent and graceful.

My anxiety was starting to peak as he took a double take. I put my head down and played with the hem of my shirt. It was my first time out of the house and I don't think I am handling it so well. I felt a poke on my shoulder and smacked who was behind me. Dahvie pouted and hid the phone behind his back.

"Now you aren't getting a phone."

"I'm sorry. I feel like I'm going to have an anxiety attack out here."

"Don't be," He puts his arms over my shoulders and we begin to walk away from the plaza. "You will be fine. No one is out to get you anymore because they think you are dead. You are in good hands here with me."

"Okay."

"Now, are you ready to finally get your hands on some piece of technology finally?" I laugh as he hands the phone to me. "Its called a Side Kick. Text and call as much as you want on it."

"I have no idea what that means, but I will figure it out."

"I will help you." He offered. "I have your number in my phone. I already put mine in there." I thanked him for the phone and we left to go back home to prep for the concert. I was going to just settle for a simple black t-shirt and jeans, but Dahvie insisted on making more like him for the concert, so I gave in.

Instead of going home, Dahvie drove to a large building. We were going into a mall. A large building filled with people that terrified me at the moment.

"Dahvie. I can't do this."

"Yes, you can." He says. Dahvie left the car and was opening my door for me. I grabbed his hand and walked slowly into the mall. My hand was extremely sweaty, and I think he noticed. I didn't care. I needed him. I squeeze his hand and he squeezes back. We walk into the mall and I stop walking.

Dahvie watches me with careful eyes. "It's okay." He says. I take a step forward into the crowd.

We walk to a store called Hot Topic. He buys me skinny jeans that are a beautiful shade of pink along with a Jeffree Star shirt that matches perfectly. We leave as soon as possible so I don't freak out on every person in here. It was a smart move. I close my eyes once we are both in his car.

"I don't know if I can do this at the concert."

"Jayy and I both will protect you." He winks at me and begins to drive home. I root through the bag and find that Dahvie had bought more than just the jeans and the shirt. He bought bows, a belt and jewelry for me. I thank him and bolt into the house once we arrive. I close myself in my room and take many heavy breaths. Dahvie knocks on my door. I refuse to answer him.

"Please let me in, Mick. I want to talk to you." I open the door. Dahvie walks in and sits on the ground with me.

"Jayy said he can reschedule to meet us. If you aren't comfortable with it, we will see him another time."
