It was finally Friday, I went to work like almost every other day but instead of working till 3 I had to till 5. I got to work, my only friend I had is my coworker, Jasmine, she was...well, weird "isn't tonight the night you go out with that cute guy that keeps running into you" she asked as we filled the napkin holders "yes, why do you ask" I say filling one of the last napkin holders "this will be your first date since you moved here" she mentioned "I guess, your right" I reply setting the napkin holders at the tables "you guess, you know I'm right" I laughed "what" she asked "nothing, your younger and more weird than I am" I say, still laughing "not to seem rude but how old are you" she asked curiously "I'm 35 years young, but you know your old when you say your so many years young" she begins to laugh with me "I would have never guessed" she replied "well, see ya tomorrow morning" it was only three and I only had two more hours to go before I go home. It was the longest two hours of my life, I got home and went to change out of my uniform and into something a little more casual.
I looked at the time, it was 6:45, I took a cab to the pizza place we decided to go to, I walked in trying to look as normal as possible "hey, I don't think we have actually introduced ourselves" he greeted "I must agree, I'm Karlesha Fortuna" I say shaking his hand "Mike Logan" he pulls out my chair and let's me sit down. The waiter came over "what can I get you two to drink" the waiter asked "scotch" Mike answered, the waiter turned to me "water for now" I say, Mike looks at me confused "I'm waiting for a call, I would like to be sober for it, but after I have no promises" I say "so what do you do" Mike asks "for a job" he clarifies "I'm a waitress but the call I'm waiting for is actually to be a photojournalist" I say, I ask him the same question "I'm a detective, in major case" he replies looking at the menu "did you always want to be a detective" I ask "sort of yah, do you want to share a pizza" he asked "sure, what kind" I answer, he flips through the menu "a supreme, medium" I nod "okay" I say smiling a little. The waiter came over to take our order, Mike gave him the order, the waiter winked at me "you do that again, I will throw you at a moving vehicle, you know that's to much of a mess how about I just rip your eyes out of your sockets" I say, Mike, I could tell, was starring at me "what, my dad was a government trained assassin, I can't help it." I stated, he laughed a little, then realized what I said, and he gave me a confused look. I am hoping, he doesn't question me "so your father was an assassin?" of course he asked questions "Yah," I began, "he got arrested when I was 8, but before that he taught me how to kill and thieve if I had to." I say, taking a sip of my water, my phone began to ring, "Fortuna," I answer, with the other person on the other line the first words that can to mind is 'oh no'
