Chapter four - Mileage

AUSTIN - 

Yesterday Awaits had agreed to go on tour with Of Mice and Men. The rest of our band members had flown out here and our apartment building had become ten times more lively as before. To say that Ian, Ash, and Eli from Yesterday Awaits were crazy was an understatement. Their wild personalities contrasted greatly to Madi's and it even brought out something in her I had never knew existed. She seemed to have loosened up and was more easy going. We all teased each other endlessly and it didn't take long for us to become close friends. We all went to each others band practices and helped each other out- giving each other pointers as we went along. 

Madi and I had began to write an acoustic song together. Out genres were almost polar opposites so it was hard work. It was weird having to sing instead of scream. 

"I'll paint you a picture, with words I miss her," I sing awkwardly as Madi strummed her acoustic guitar and laughed. "What?" I ask and she continues to play. 

"Loosen your jaw, don't be so tense." She stops playing so she can adjust my jaw for me. I swat her away and she laughs. "Oh come on, you'll get it! Just let me help."

"I got it, I got it," I sing the line again, taking her advice. 

"There you go!" She exclaims proudly and she picks up her guitar and starts to play as I go on. 

Once we finish the song without error we smile widely at each other. "Lets call it a day." I propose and Madi shrugs. 

"Sounds good to me." She puts her guitar down and stands up. "I have some Pokemon that need trained."

"You're a dork."

"I know," She flips her hair as she walks out of the room and a I laugh as I follow her out. 

We sit on the couch together and she lays her legs on top of mine. I watch her as she stares intently at her game. She was gorgeous and I would give anything to kiss her right now. I briefly glance at her lips and she looks up at me and raises her eyebrows. "If you want to kiss me you can," She says softly without meeting my gaze. 

"Are you sure?" I ask as I begin to lean into her. I pull up her chin so she is looking me straight in the eye.

"I'm sure," She breaths, he breath smelling of peppermints and coffee. I press my lips against hers and she kisses me back. The kiss takes my breath away and I begin to smile widely, forcing us apart. I look down at Madi to see her with a smile that mirrors mine. "About time," She blushes and kisses me again. 

"You're telling me," I say breathlessly and pull her closer to me. I bury my face in her hair breathing in the scent of lilacs and the cologne of her band mates. Even when they weren't here they were still with us. 

Madi and I jump apart when we hear someone clear there throat. Phil, Tino, Ash, and Eli are all standing in the door way holding Nerf guns. 

"Uh hey, guys," Madi stands up and pulls me up with her. 

"We were... Just gonna see if you guys wanted to go shoot around with us." Ash holds up his Nerf gun. "But you guys seem a little busy.." The group starts laughing, besides Eli, who is glaring at me. Madi's face turns red with embarrassment. 

"Sure, we'll go." I shrug and head for the door and Madi follows.

"The guys from Memphis May Fire and Neck Deep just arrived." Phil explains. "Everyone is in the parking lot waiting for us."

"Really?!" Madi asks, the excitement evident in her voice. "I love Memphis May Fire!" She starts walking faster and we all laugh. 

"It's been awhile since we've seen the Neck Deep guys, huh?" Eli says, referring to his band. 

Ash nods in agreement. "I've missed those guys."

Of Mice and Men has toured with Memphis May Fire before, but I've never met the guys in Neck Deep Both bands agreed to tour with us and we needed them to in order to smooth out the genre differences. Yesterday Awaits and Neck Deep tour together a lot and Madi claims that the UK is her second home. 

We walk out the apartment doors and into the warm summer sun. Summer was always my favorite season and I loved the way Madi's hair looked in the sun. 

"Madi!" I hear five guys yell in unison and suddenly Madi is lost in a crowd of guys. The gang from Neck Deep have her in a group hug and the rest of her band joins in, I frown slightly but shake it off as I hear Madi laugh. I knew the bands were close and I couldn't let that get to me. Madi kissed me back for a reason.

"Hey, Austin!" Matty from Memphis May Fire claps me on the back before pulling me in for a hug. 

"Hey, Matty." I pat his back and laugh as Madi looks towards me. Three different Maddies' was going to be confusing. "Let me introduce you to Madi, she's a huge fan." I chuckle as I lead him her way. 

She was standing closely and talking quietly to Matt West, guitarist of ND. I walk up behind her and put my arm across her shoulders. I nod my head towards Matt before he walks off. "Hey Madi, this is Matty." I laugh and she joins in. 

"Another Madi?!" She shakes her head. 

"I guess so," Matty laughs. "I hear you're a fan. It's nice to meet you!" They shake hands and smile at each other. "Me and the rest of the guys are fans of yours as well!"

"Are you kidding?" Madi asks in disbelief.

"Not kidding!" Matty shakes his head. 

"Okay you guys!" Ash interrupts us from atop of an amp he must of pulled out of a bus. "Are we ready to start?"

"Lets do this!" Jake Garland yells and the rest of us cheer in agreement. 

"No better way to kick off a tour," Madi shrugs. "Prepare to get killed." She grabs a gun from Eli and I follow suit.

"We'll see about that." I smile at her.

"Boys against girls!" Ash calls, still atop of his amp. 

"Hey!" Madi protests. She was the only girl on this whole tour, which made me uneasy. 

"Kidding, kidding!" Ash laughs. "Bassists and drummers against singers and lead guitarists. Let's go!" He hops off his amp and starts to shoot. 

Madi and I pair up and we agree to go after the ND guys. 2 hours later, Madi and I were still in the game and we weren't sure who was still in. "Ah!" I hear Madi yell suddenly and turn to see that Dani had got her. "Austin run!" 

I left up my Nerf gun at the same time Dani lefts his and manage to shoot him before he can shoot me. I let out a battle cry and Madi and Dani laugh. 

After our game, which ended around eight, we all got on the buses and headed out to begin out tour.
