Night's at the Café

Chapter 2

For the pass two weeks Toby notice that Oliver and Tanner would come in the same time every day close to closing time and pick the same booth close to the back. Tanner would still hit on Toby and nitpick at his brother. Just how Toby and his brother does.

Toby find it easy to talk to Oliver. They talked about sports, which Toby told Oliver that he plays football, basketball and baseball. When he's not at practice, having a game or working he's hanging out with friends surfing and skateboarding.

Toby learn that Oliver owns a business, an import expert business. Toby has a feeling that there more to it them that, but he never push it. Oliver told him that it was a family run business for many years, since his family came from Italy.

Tanner saw that he was not going to be getting anywhere with Toby, he move on and started bugging Gale. Which didn't last long after Gale told him that he don't swing that way. Tanned just sat back and watched his brother and Toby talk. Most nights, Toby was busy with customers. But on nights that where slow Toby would sit and talk with Oliver.

Those slow nights Tanner gets to see a different side of his brother, a side he though t die a long time ago. He's happy that his brother may of find someone to spend forever with or until their enemies get wind of poor Toby. There will be hell to pay if anything did had to Toby. The streets would turn red and no one would be safe.

"Hi guys, here your food." Toby said as he placed the food in front of the two man that he got to know over the pass two weeks. " Hi Toby, how's your day going?" Oliver asked. "It's going. Do you guys have anything going on Friday?" Toby asked them. Toby has been wanting to asked them to see one of his games for a while now. Every time he goes to asked he chickens out.

Gale told him to grow a pair already and just asked them. The worst the could say is no. "Nothing I know of. You Oliver?" Tanner asked his brother. "I have one meeting but it's early in the morning. Why?" Oliver asked. "I wanted to know if you guys wanted to go to my game. My mom and dad had to go to my aunts, and my brother will be there by himself." Toby said.

Tanner and Oliver looked at each other. After a moment Oliver was the first to speak. "We'll love to. What time?" Oliver asked. "Game don't start until seven but you should be there before six so you can get snacks and a good sit." Toby said with a smile. "Six it is there little buddy." Tanner said. "Great, I got to get back to work." Toby said as he head to the people who walked in.

Toby was happy to hear that they would be coming to one of his game. He was so happy the smile never left his face all night. "So we're finally going to watch your boy play ball?" Tanner asked his brother. "One his not my boy." Oliver said. "Yet." Tanner said back to him. " Like I was saying he's not my. And why not watch him? It's his last year and like he said its just going to be his brother." Oliver said as he started eating.

Tanner just watched his brother. He know better then the fact that he don't want Gale to be alone. Tanner is sure Gale sat alone before at one of his brothers games. Tanner watch as his brother would looked over at Toby thinking no one seeing him do it.

After paying Oliver and Tanner went to Tanner car since Tanner wanted to drive. "So when are you going to ask Toby out?" Tanner asked. He knows his brother really wants to. "You know I can't do that." Oliver told him. "Why?" Tanner asked like he didn't already know why. "You know why so dropped." Oliver said when he got in the car.

No one said a word after that. Tanner know he hit a nerve. Tanner knows how much Olive has come to care for Toby and that's why he don't want him to get hurt. It pains Tanner to see his brother happy, yet sad at the same time.

Friday night came. Oliver and Tanner made their way to the stands to take a sit. "Ciao Gale. ( Hello Gale)" Tanner said when he sat beside Gale. "Ciao dolore. ( Hello Pain)" Gale said back to him. "You know Italian?" Tanner asked him. "Yes so does my brother. Our mother Italian and our father is Puerto Rican." Gale told him.

Toby was out on the field, he happen looked over where his brother was sitting and saw Tanner and Oliver with him. He told his team mates he would be back. He ran over to where they were. "You guys made it." Toby said when he reached them. " Non mi sarei perso per il mondo. ( Wouldn't have missed it for the world)" Oliver said to him. " So che sei impegnato, quindi sono felice che tu l'abbia fatto. ( I know you're busy, so I'm happy you made it)" Toby said with a smile on his face.

The whistle blow to get the teams ready. "Well I got to go. We'll talk more after the game." Toby said before running over to his team.

"Damn that was hot. Now I'm hard." Tanner said. " bastardo corneo. ( horny bastard)" Gale said under his breath. " Continua a parlare così finirò per saltarti. ( Keep talking like that I'll end up jumping you)" Tanner told Gale then turn to watch the game.

The game was over. Sadly they lose. Toby walked over to them after he shower and changed. His hair was still wet when he walked to them. "Sorry about the lose bro." Gale told him. "Its fine. You should know by now we always lose to them." Toby said. They walked to the cars. "Gale take me." Tanner said. "Why the hell would I want a horn dog in my car?" Gale asked. "Cause you love me." Tanner said as he got in the car. "I guess I'm with you." Toby said as he turn to Oliver.

They went to the café like they always did when the game was over. Their cousin and a friend of his was working there to night. "Hey guys how was the game?" Their cousin asked. "We lose." Toby told him as they all took a sit at the bar. "That suck. I was sure you guys had them this year." He said. "Same here." Toby said.

They order their food and took a sit at a table in the back. They talked about the game and what Toby planning to do after football season is over, which is in a week. " Getting ready for basketball season." Toby told them. "When you know the scheduler let us know so we can go to some of your games if we can." Oliver told him. "Well do. It maybe sometime next month." He said.

They spend some more time talking after they where done eating. They laughed at Gale and Tanner. Tanner really like to push Gale buttons. Talked more about sport and games. Until they head out. "That was fun." Toby said. Gale was already to the car with Tanner right behind him bugging him. "Yes it was. Are you free next Saturday?" Oliver asked him. "Yes" Toby told him. "Would you like to go out with me?" Oliver asked. "I would love to." Toby said with a smile on his face. "I will pick you up around eight." Oliver said. "I'll be waiting." Toby said as he walked to his brother car with a smile on his face.

On the way home Toby keep talking about how Oliver asked him out. Gale was happy for his brother. He know Oliver cares for his brother.

Tanner was bugging Oliver about Toby. "So you asked Toby out after all." Tanner said. Oliver know he shouldn't of asked Toby out but he couldn't help it. Oliver really likes Toby and he couldn't stop himself.
