Finally after like 45 minutes of torturous English class and school is over. I get up say bye to Grover and make my way outside of the prison which is called school. I walk home Goode high school is lonely like three blocks from the apartment building that I share with my mom and my crappy stepdad Gabe.
"Hey mom I'm home,"I say walking into my home.
"I'm in the living room honey!" my mom calls. I go in and she hugs me.
"Hey,"I say glumly, pouring myself a cup of water.
"How was school today?"she asks.
I sigh."Terrible as usual. Mom,I think my dyslexia is getting worse."
"I know it's hard for you. But it will all make sense one day."
"When??" I ask." Today? Tomorrow? When!? I thought this school was supposed to make things better!"
Before my mom can reply my stepdad comes in. "Sally beer!" He orders. (The pig)
"It's in the fridge honey," my mom says.
"It's not like it's going to come floating out of the fridge or something," he retorts.
"Hey don't you go treating my mom like that! Go get it yourself you lazy @$$!!" I say. In an instant he has me pines against the wall.
"This is my house and I will do what I like." With that he releases hi grip and stalks out of the room.
"Whatever," I mutter when he's out of earshot."Mom why do you stay with that pig? He can't even keep a job and he smells like a friggin sewer! Why do you stay with him!?"
"For reasons you don't understand." She replies quietly.
" Like I don't understand I don't understand anything!!!!" I say now upset. I go to my room and flop down on the bed putting in my ear buds. Why does my life have to be so hard? What was it my mom said about not understanding? I let my eyes drift closed and take a long needed nap.
