"Gou, why?" I mumbled to myself at the scene before me.
Gou was staring quite intensively at the team's muscles. Gasping at every move they made.
They had just finished practice and were currently drying off. Gou and I stood beside the pool watching them rid off all the excess water from their bodies.
My eyes wondered, looking at mesmerizing blue hue of pool water. Not too long did they trail towards different mesmerizing blue hues. My gaze went towards the vibrant, cool eyes of water-crazed male.
He seemed visibly upset at the fact they had to leave the pool. Just the thought made me crack a cheeky smile.
My gazed lingered a little too long as there was a sudden jab to my side. I loomed over to see Gou giving me a suggestive smirk.
"What?" I said, playing coy.
"You know exactly what." She stated, moving her eyebrows.
I felt the heat rise to my cheeks as I looked away from her, only to see Haru standing right next to me.
Without any words being said, he winked and continued to make his way, following the others into the locker rooms.
I stood there, unsure if my eyes had been playing tricks on me.
'D-did he just...wink at me?' The blush on my cheeks worsened.
Gou was giggling as she had witnessed the awkward moment. She than harshly grabbed my shoulders as she began to jump up and down.
"Y/N, HARU-SENPAI MUST LIKE YOU!" Gou squealed.
"Gou shush please." I nervously said, hoping no one had heard her outburst.
"Don't worry y/n I won't say anything about your little crush, as long as you call me Kou." She giggled.
"Kou, no it's not like that." I said with a deadpanned look on my face.
"Hehe if you say so~", she whispered, "C'mon, we need to go discuss about the meet." She said changing the subject.
I followed her as we went inside the school, where everyone was waiting.
As we sat down, I felt as though a pair of eyes were on me, however I shook it off.
Makoto was the first to speak up.
"So what's the plan for next meet?" The giant asked with a gentle smile.
Kou looked over to him with a determined aura, "Well..." She went on explaining the plans for the following week and handed everyone a copy of the regimen.
As she handed me a copy as well, my eyes scanned over the paper.
"Um Kou", I said to catch her attention, "Isn't this a bit extreme for practice?"
"EH!?", I heard Nagisa speak up, "Does y/n-chan not think we can do it?" He was close to my face as he had fake tears in his eyes.
"No that's not what I mean at all!" I said panicking that I had offended them.
"We understand what you mean y/n-chan, but we can handle this", Makoto intervened with his usual soft smile.
"See y/n-chan, we can do this. Just cheer us on!" Nagisa shouted with his hands on his hips and a bright smile.
With Nagisa still close to me, I felt
eyes bore into me. A hand went on Nagisa's shoulder.
"Give y/n some space." Haru said with a low voice.
Nagisa laughed, putting his hands on the back of his neck.
"Sorry Haru-chan, I won't touch your y/n."
"...Don't say '-chan' in my name." Haru quietly said before leaving rhe room, most likely to head back to the pool.
My face started heating up again. Nagisa suddenly pinched my cheeks.
"Awe look Rei-chan, y/n-chan is blushing."
Rei sighed, "I distinctly recall you stating that you wouldn't touch y/n-senpai as she is for Haru-senpai's." He said pushing up his glasses.
"REI!" My eyes widened at his words.
"I apoligize y/n-senpai, I was simply stating the facts."
If I was lightly blushing before, my face resembled a tomato now.
"Rei-chan~!" Nagisa whined looking at Rei, while still squishing my face.
"Only Haru-chan should make her blush!" He jokingly said.
"Exactly so you shouldn't be touching her as Haru-senpai will get upset!" Kou pushed through, joining in.
As the teasing continued, with the exception of a sympathetic looking Makoto, no one had heard the footsteps coming from the locker room.
"Instead of y/n l/n, it will be y/n Nanase." Nagisa snickered.
"It does have a nice ring to it." Kou added.
"A very beautiful name indeed." Concluded Rei.
"It is a cute name y/n-chan." Makoto said gultily.
I held my head down to try to hide my blush.
"I like that name."
I lifted my head to see Haru now dripping wet again, leaning against the doorway.
I looked at Haru's expression. It wasn't the same emotionless look, his face softened as he said those words, with a light blush adorning his cheeks.
He quickly left, fleeing back to the safety of the pool.
A smile crawled its way to my face as I whispered, "Me too."
