My Roommate is as Crazy as Me

2. The New-ish Greeting

As I was running down the hall I looked behind me to make sure I wasn't being followed by her. I slowed down and started walking towards the administration office to get the info about my dorm room and to find out who I was rooming with. It won't change anything, you barely know anyone except that cute guy Luke. Wait what, I just met him UGH I can not even process this right now I nodded in agreement with the conversation I had in my head. "No wonder I've been called weird" I think to myself . After a short walk I made it to the administration office.

I walked in and asked ever-so politely.
"My name is Pepper Smith and I would like to know my dorm number and roommates name please?" But the person attending me frowned obviously he was having a bad day. I tried smiling at him but all that did was make his frown deepen.
  "We aren't supposed to give you roommate information but for the dorm number I have look it up in the system it might take a couple minutes please sit down while I attend to it." I simply nodded and sat down quietly. Suddenly the door barged open it caused me to jump in the sudden noise because it had been deathly quiet before but the moment they entered it was like someone had suddenly flipped the ' sound switch' because of the instant buzz and chatter that filled the room. A group of guys about my age were walking in and headed to the man that was helping me earlier. "Good luck getting his help" I said to myself. I then heard a high pitched giggle come from the girl sitting next to me, I hadn't payed her much attention when I sat down. I looked at her with a confused expression spread across my face. She returned it with a toothy white smile.
"That was hilarious you sure are funny, my names Melody what's yours?" She said it all with such enthusiasm I thought she was faking it until I saw her eagerly awaiting my response.
"The name's Pepper, thanks for the compliment
"Mel." Her eager expression quickly changed into a confused one.
"Mel?" I nodded at her ignorance
"It's your new nick name, since now we're  technically friends, I might as well give you one." During our short introduction I had not noticed that the grumpy pants man was calling me back up. I said goodbye to Mel and headed towards his desk. "Your room number is 253." He handed me my schedule and my dorm keys I quickly thanked him and started walking out but before I did I quickly saluted a goodbye to Mel which made her giggle. I walked into the parking lot and grabbed my boxes and bags. Along the way I had to ask for directions to my dorm . After a short explanation of where to go which included and bunch of lefts and rights I thanked them and finally made it to my dorm. I got  it to the door and tried the door knob. Surprisingly it was already unlocked "Great my roommates here time to introduce myself." I slowly walked in with the boxes covering my face and my view so as soon as I put down my boxes I was welcomed by a not so great surprise
