I really didn't get why some people had more fear towards the dentist than the doctors.
I mean yeah, the dentist can stick wierd tools in your mouth but, doctors can stick wierd things anywhere else in your body. Your ears, mouth, asshole, you name it.
When you have something wrong with your teeth, you usually just get a filling and learn to brush your teeth twice a day and to not eat so much goddamn candy.
When you have something wrong in your body, you have to take various tests, they give you medication; there are so many things that can be wrong physically/internally with you and you might not even know it.
When you go to the doctor things go through peoples heads such as... I hope I don't have somehing in my blood, or a heart problem, or feet problem, or brain probelms. So many possibilities.
I guess you could say i'm not really that afraid of either the denists or the doctors. People say doctors are good people, that doctors are only there to help and that they are nice because when you do go to your appointments, they tell you what is wrong.
Every time I go to the doctors I know what he is going to say. Well, he never really says anything to me other than, "Is your happy pill doing good?" As if I wasn't a living human being and the only thing that mattered was the pill.
I guess that was true though.
That's all the doctor asks me, I usually say it's doing good, before he goes on and goes to talk to my mother, about the Happy Pill.
I hate that name Happy Pill. It sounds so childish... Why couldn't they have picked a cooler name for it. Like an... an awesome pill. That sounds even more lame, nevermind.
The doctor would subscribe me a new bottle of the Happy Pills, and then we would just go back home.
Before going to sleep I would usually hear my mom's voice, "Ashton! Did you take your Happy Pill?" from down the hallway. I kind of don't really care if I remember to take them or not.
The doctors are still working on me; on the pill. They're trying to improve the pill, and perfect it, so people all over the world with the same disease as me could be happier.
A lot of other doctors that come over to my house a lot refer to me as their 'guiny pig'. I really wondered if any of them knew my real name.
See, doctors aren't that nice.
