Life.

It can be cruel.

It can be hell.

It can be dark.

I thought I found the light.

I thought I escaped the darkness.

But I was wrong.

It's coming.

********************************

My head pounded with immense pain from the lack of sleep. My vision cloudy as I struggled to keep my eyes open.

I took shallow breaths as I stared out the glass window, the muffled voices fading into the background.

The green forest.

The never ending forest of green that kept me in the dark and hid me from the light.

I turned my gaze towards the sun, the warmth bringing comfort.

It was gone. Hidden behind the clouds.

"What did he mean?" I asked, my voice devoid of any emotion.

Darkness is coming.

The words echoed through my head. Each syllable engrained.

There was silence.

I averted my gaze towards Damien, awaiting his response.

"They are coming." The brown eyed boy, whom I came to know as Micah, spoke in a chilly tone.

"They?" I questioned in confusion.

"The Daemones." Malakai answered from the corner where he stood.

"Malakai." Damien warned with a deadly glare.

"She needs to know if she's going to be apart of this pack." Malakai gritted between his sharp teeth.

There was a slight pause before he spoke again.

"The day you stumbled onto our land. . . you weren't alone. . there was-"
