Stop Promising Forever

We were only eight when he made the promise.

I’ll bet he didn’t even understand the meaning of the words he gave to me at the time. Right? We were young and naïve and made too many childish promises that we couldn’t be sure we’d be able to keep. The sad part is I believed him. I fell for every single word that escaped his mouth. And even worse- I fell for him.
