After getting checked out in the infirmary, Sam, Daniel and I found ourselves in the briefing room. Teal'c and Marty were still getting patched up. We had already briefed Hammond on what had happened on the planet.
"You do realize the implications of this?" Hammond said, leaning forward on the table.
"Yes, sir." Daniel and Sam said. I looked around,
"uh, no sir." I said.
"I creature that is a natural enemy of the Goa'uld could be a valuable resource to us." Hammond said.
"Even if we can't train them or even get them on base, a simple tissue sample would provide us with enough information to use." Carter said. I raised my hand.
"I'm sorry but aren't the monsters in question splattered against our iris?" I asked.
"Well, yes sir, but I imagine that there are more on that planet." Carter countered.
"So, you want to go back and get a tissue sample of one of those mutations that hates absolutely everything?"
"Well, sir, they did drive the Goa'uld off of the planet." Sam said.
"Yeah, and drove the inhabitants up trees and rock pillars!" I turned to the General, "Sir, you can't actually be considering this can you?" I asked.
"I am going to put some thought in it, but I will not make that decision right now." He said.
"Sir, they captured and tortured Teal'c and Marty." I argued.
"Yes, but they hate Goa'uld more than anything and we brought two symbiotes, and they were unprepared." Daniel jumped in. I threw up my hands in defeat. Hammond took a deep breath and turned to Major Carter,
"How are they by the way?" He asked Carter
"Well, sir, it would seem like Martouf's injuries are more sever but they will both make it." she said, "It seems as though they were only intent on torturing the symbiotes which is why Teal'c's injuries aren't nearly as bad."
"And why is that?" I asked.
"Because Teal'c is not directly linked to his symbiote, while Martouf is." She said.
"So, what your saying is that Martouf experienced everything that Lantash did, while Teal'c only experienced the after effects?" Daniel asked. Carter nodded.
"Well, I'm glad they'll be ok." Hammond said. He turned to Sam, "Now, about your fathers kidnappers." We all straightened a little and shifted in our seats.
"One of the SG teams were doing a recon mission and found this. I thought you might want to take a look." He said, opening a folder and passing it to Daniel. Daniel furrowed his brows and he examined it.
"This looks a lot like the writing we found on the broken blade that was discovered in the Tok'ra tunnels." he said.
"That's what we suspected. I would like for you to investigate after your team has finished recuperating." Hammond said. I leaned over Daniels shoulder to look at the picture. It was a picture of, what looked like, some sort of hanging sign. I looked at Hammond and shrugged my shoulders.
"That picture was taken inside a local trading center." He informed us.
"Sweet. Can't wait sir." I said smiling at him. He chuckled a bit.
"Your formal briefing will be at 0800 hours two days from now. In the mean time, get some rest. Dismissed." He said.
