"Touch me and I'll murder!" I screamed, my knife to a girl's neck, prepared go slit it at any moment.
The girl smirked and holstered her gun. "If you hurt me, they'll murder you." She gestured towards the three people behind her.
I looked past her brunette hair and at the people. They were all guys. One had goggles holding his sandy blonde hair back off his forehead. Another had a crossbow strapped to his back and a bandana holding his black hair down to his forehead. And the last one? Oh, the last one. The instant I saw him and made eye contact, I dropped my hand from the girl's neck and twirled the knife back into my boot.
"Did she just...?" Bandana Boy trailed off, bewildered.
"It was him," Goggles Boy stated with wide eyes as he pointed to the last boy.
The last boy simply smiled and asked, "long time no see, huh, Kris?" He said it so casually I had to do a double take.
"Yeah," I replied. "Long time no see."
"Wait," the girl commanded. "You two know each other!?"
"Rachel. Luke. Seth. I'd like you to meet my old pal, Kris. By the way, Kris, did I mention how lovely you look now? You grew up great. So beautiful now," the boy claimed, almost too happily.
"Don't think you'll be able to water my feelings down like you did before," I snapped.
"And I see you're still as feisty as ever."
I rolled my eyes and scoffed at that. "Still a Smart Alec, I see. No pun intended." I winked at him. He chuckled lightly at that.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Who the hell are you!?" Goggles Boy exclaimed.
"Are you deaf?" I questioned, calmly, looking at him. "Alec just told you I was an old friend of his."
"How do you-" the girl started, but had her gun out before she even cut herself off.
I instantly had my knife out, ready to attack as I growled. But before I could do anything, the last boy gripped my shoulder and turned me towards a mob of people charging towards us.
"Inside!" Bandana Boy hollered, shoving Goggles Boy and I back towards the door.
I followed his order and ran inside with the other boy. The others followed one by one, the girl coming in last with a sigh.
I looked back at everyone. Rachel must be the girl's name. I'm guessing Seth is Goggles Boy and Bandana Boy is Luke. Alec is obviously the last boy. The boy I hadn't spoken to in years in person. Text, calls, facetime, and Skype are different from face to face speaking in person.
I'm surprised I just ran here. It had do have been at least 10 am and this is what I ran to at 5:30 in the morning.
"Time for introductions!" Alec cheered as if there wasn't anything happening outside right now. "Say your name and one thing you're good at that can come in handy during a zombie apocalypse." He grinned.
"Zombies aren't real. So technically, a zombie apocalypse can't happen," I stated.
"Just do it," he growled.
I rolled my eyes. "The name's Kris and I can handle melee weapons really well," I claimed.
"I'm Seth and I'm good with mechanics and makeshift weapons of all kinds. Plus, I'm fast," Goggles Boy said and winked at me.
I raised a brow questionably.
"She's taken, Seth," Alec sighed, patting his back lightly.
"Luke's the name, hunting's my game," Bandana Boy winked at me, making me slowly back away.
