Aurora's POV
The plane landed smoothly and we were able to get off in no time. I was so happy that I could finally stand up, even though we were on the plane for about an hour and a half.
Dad got out of his spot first, and walked behind an elderly woman. After him it was my turn, with Natalie and Quinn behind me.
I looked behind Natalie and saw more people taking some bags out of the storage containers on top of their seats, along with more people heading into the line. When I got to the front of the plane, the same workers stood there waving goodbye to everyone as they got off. As I made my way past then, I smiled at them.
Waiting by the entrance, I saw Dad and stood beside him to wait for the others. Natalie and Quinn came out moments after me, and we walked down the long hallway. The hallway didn't really look the same as the one at the Calgary airport if I could recall. This one had walls that were thin enough to hear the commotion outside, and while we walked, it seemed as those movies where you're on one of those extremely fast trains and you would go through a tunnel, with lights flashing as it sped by. I liked that there was soft carpeting on the ground, unlike my school where it's just hard coloured tiles.
We came down into the baggage claim to get our luggage. It was crowded with people, only a few that I recognized from the plane. Walking up to where everyone was waiting, I scanned all of the bags coming through. I separated from the group, noticing my bag that is coming up.
"Excuse me." I asked a lady in front of me who looked about the age of 30, with a child holding her hand, staring at me and chewing on his thumb.
"Oh I'm sorry!" She apologizes and moves away, dragging the toddler with her. Once she moves, I recognize my luggage and grab it. Dad notices his suitcase and his laptop bag and grab it, along with the girls. We made our way down the hall, and down the escalators.
"Yay I'm so excited!" Natalie cheered.
I laughed, "Haha, same! I really wanna know what Dad is hiding from me." I turn and glare at him, but all he does is gives me a small smile and turns away.
"What are we going to do first?" Quinn asked. I haven't thought of this yet, and I didn't know what to say.
Until, "We'll see what will happen once we get home." Dad stated."Ooo, Thomassss." Natalie taunts. I roll my eyes at that comment and Quinn and Dad smile.
Thomas is the guy that I've had a crush on since childhood. He lives across the street from our house in Churchill, so I only get to see him every couple of months or weeks. He is my age, and Dad is good friends with his parents. Everyone knows about my crush on him, even he knows, so I can never escape from someone at least reminding me of him before I even get to see him. I do secretly kind of have a crush on him still, but no one knows that, I just tell them I don't like him anymore.
"Natalie!" I bark, "You know we're only friends."
"No way! You guys are so perfect for each other!"
"Ya, ya." I sighed. I feel a blush coming onto my face and turn away so they don't notice. We walked passed many cafes and shops,
"Anyone want anything before we go?" Dad asks.
"Actually, I think I might want a coffee." Quinn stops and looks around.
"I think I might too." I agree.
"Ok, there's a Starbucks over there." Dad says and points at it. Quinn and I walk over to Starbucks.
"Oookkkaaayyy." Quinn says looking around Starbucks. It is completely filled up with travellers and tourists, a lot of them look like they come from places outside of Canada, some even as far as Japan.Churchill is one of the many tourist attractions in the world. They're most popular for the polar bears that stay in the fall, the many beluga whales that swim here in the summer, and the Northern Lights in the winter. Since it's December, I'm pretty sure that most of these people are here to see the Lights.
Looking at the line, I could tell that we would be stuck in there for a half an hour.
"Ya, let's not waste our time." I laugh, and we walk back to the others.
"Back already?" Dad asks, surprised.
"Ya we would be stuck in that line forever. I'm sure none of us want coffee that bad." I laugh sarcastically.
"That's ok, we can pick up some groceries before we go home." He responds and we keep on walking.
