10. 10 missed calls from him. I had to, he was a distraction, so I stopped letting him distract me. I had to get out of the blurry haze I was in when I was with him, I had to....fly away. I chuckled to myself at that. Fly away was the name of the new song I was writing, one that needed to be thrown away. All it did was remind me of feelings that should be muted, shut down, stored away so I didn't have to ponder on them.

I mean was I wrong? Maybe I should tell him why I was ignoring him. I mean all these issues at home and around me needed to be handled, and if I talked to him, yea they'd all disappear, but, who would that help? I had people who needed me so what I wanted was irrelevant, right? Whatever fuck it. I looked around at the mess before and began to clean up.

The smell of cooking downstairs was floating throughout the house, making my stomach growl, emphasizing how hungry I truly was. After I was completely done cleaning up, I headed to the bathroom down the hall and began stripping my clothes after locking the door behind me. Today was gonna be a regular day. Be bored, go over to Perry's house, do nothing at all and call it a day. It was same thing every day back to back endlessly. Looks like I was being productive with my summer.

Turning the water on, I wait for it to heat up before hopping in. The water was warm but I liked it hot so reaching for the handle I turn it slightly and instantly it feels like the gates of hell have opened and Satan himself was pissing on my back.

"Fuck!" I mutter to myself, turning the knob again and signing in relief when it cools. I grab the Dove men and put some on, rubbing it across my body and later grabbing the shampoo and scrub it through my hair. I rinse my body and hair off before stepping out of the shower and grabbing the towel.

When I hear my mom call me, I hurriedly put on my underwear, shirt and gym shorts before running down the stairs. I didn't know I was nervous until I felt the sweat gathering on my palms in the way down the stairs. I mean, yea I did just come out to my drunk mother last night so there was a 50/50 chance she remembered all that and I wasn't completely sure what her reaction would be now. Maybe she'd be fine with it or she could be the complete opposite and anger stricken. I don't know honestly, and the unknown scared me.

"Heyyyy mom," I began, hoping to strike up some conversation or see what she was thinking. She was over the stove mixing the grits and I chuckled to myself when the song 'flick of the wrist' popped into my head. "Need any help?" I ask hesitantly and she just shakes her head no before turning towards me.

"I'm sorry about last night, I just, I-I let everything build up inside and it blew up in my face and I'm sorry you had to see that. By the way could you not tell your father about that?" She questions while taking the grits off the stove.

It takes me a while to answer her question because mid-sentence I got a text, from the main person I was avoiding.

💖 Ray Ray💖: If you're gonna read my messages the least you can do is reply. Meet me?

The snapping of fingers in my face grab my attention and I pull back dazed and I recall our conversation.

"Oh yea, your secrets safe with me." I say and end it with a big smile before getting up from my seat. "See you later." I mutter before heading towards the door.
