Eggs, bacon, (GRITS) and waffles. The smell traveled through the house, Phil made breakfast to make up for not making it to his hospital appointment. His mom and little brother were at church praying away their sins.

Phil didn't believe in a god. He did as a child and loved learning new stories from the bible until he realized it was a load of shit.

(No offense to any one who's religious, it's just his character's state of mind :) )

Church got out at 11 and it was almost 10:30. Phil placed the hot food in the oven to keep it warm and conceal the heat while he watched Sunday morning cartoons.

Phil glanced outside of the window subconsciously looking for the small boy. He never walked back into the subdivision like usual, maybe his home was that bad.

It had only been one day since he left with that PJ guy but Phil was looking forward to seeing him again. He acted like a brat and was hurting himself by smoking and drinking but he was pretty cute.

Phil patiently waited for his family to come home and when they did he hopped up and grabbed the food out of the oven. It was still semi warm so he set it out on plates and poured a cup of coffee.

His mom walking in with Joey in tow, she walked into the kitchen and shook her head at him.

"This doesn't make up for you missing your appointment. I had already pre paid money ready for that appointment and I'll have to pay it again for you to actually have you checked out." She spat.

Phil sat in his room, lonely and upset his cooking skills didn't improve his mistake. He messed around on his phone. He was technically lying when he told Dan he had limited minutes on his phone. He just kinda wanted a reason for him to come inside.

While thinking of Dan, Phil's door opened and Joey walked in looking confused.

"A guy named PJ called the landline..he's looking for you." Joey said and he then just walked back out. Phil jumped up and ran downstairs to the phone. He grabbed it and brought it up to his ear.

"Yes?" He asked into the phone waiting for someone to speak.

"It's Dan. Hey. I'm staying at your house." Dan said, he had a bit of a catch in his throat but his bluntness didn't sound shameful.

"Um, wait you can't just-"

"I have to. I have no where else to go and we've established you won't hurt me, I need to. Please Phil." Dan said in a pleading tone.

"We met a day ago. I don't understand your logic but okay I guess."

5 minutes earlier at PJ's House

Dan listened in as PJ's parents screamed at him for letting a slut into their home. They didn't want him staying there because he was a girl to them.

"Get her out of this house! I've seen those hickies in her neck and thighs. She's a little dirty whore!" Pj's father shouted and Dan had enough. He left out of the front door and went down into the cellar, he found PJ's phone and called back the number he used at Phil's.

He waited for someone to pick up and once someone did he instantly knew it wasn't Phil.

"Hello?" A small voice asked. Joey, or well Joseph was his full name, was pretty cute. Not as cute as Phil, but pretty cute.

"Hey, I'm PJ..I'm a friend of Phil's could you please get him for me?" Dan asked in a polite small voice.

"...sure." There was a long pause before someone else spoke directly into the phone. This was most definitely Phil's voice.

Rewind over

Phil waited outside for the boy, understanding his mother wouldn't let him stay the night considering they have school tomorrow.

Once Dan arrived Phil helped him onto the shed and onto the mini roof that sat under his cracked window sill. Phil climbed in after Dan and watched as the boy he had only officially met looked around his empty room.

"Simple, I like it." Dan turned around and smiled. Dan had a small backpack that, when set down, made clinking noises. No doubt a type of alcohol and probably other odds and ends Phil didn't want to be around.

"I'm tired, I'm gonna lay down." Dan sighed and sat down on Phil's bed. He wiggled himself under the blanket and smiled up at Phil.

"No homo." Dan laughed and patted the open bed beside him.

"Why are you here?" Phil asked sitting down next to Dan. Dan laughed and shook his head laying down and covered himself with the blanket.

"I'll tell you tomorrow Phil." Dan mumbled through the blanket. Phil rolled his eyes and quickl flipped the lights off before he awkwardly laid down next to Dan. Phil laid as close to the wall as he could and wrapped himself in one of his throw blankets.

"Night." Phil muttered and laid silently hopping he would fall asleep soon.
