Down into hell

leaving Toriel

I start to explain to Toriel about my world. Missing out the details of the resets and genocide. By the end of it she just glared at me. 

"So you're saying that you already freed everyone and I'm your.... Mother?" She asked. I responded with a simple nod as I didn't want to risk dying.

"Human child that is a lot to take in. As much as I want to think we have a chance living on the surface. We cannot. Asgore and every monster here wishes the death of all humans" Toriel sighed

"So why haven't you killed me yet" I hesitantly asked

Her eyes filled with regret at that and she gently rested a paw on my shoulder. 

"Because as I have been locked away alone for a long time... I haven't been as bad as the other monsters who feed off LOVE and the despair from others. However I cannot call myself innocent... I have killed but that's how things work down here" she pulled me into a hug. 

"If you think you can free us from this treacherous place. Then go ahead child. Just be aware, if you are foolish enough to leave me and enter the true parts of the underground. Don't come back and don't ask for any more help" she didn't sound intimidating but she did sound sorrowful as she let me go. 

I gave her a reassuring smile and went to my room and packed some things Toriel gave me. 

A slice of her badly cooked pie [heals 20hp somehow], a toy knife [3 attack] to defend myself and a faded ribbon [5 defence] which I put on myself. 

I picked up Flowey and put him on my arms and he wrapped his vines across it and took perch on my shoulder.

I walked down the stairs with Toriel and by time I reached the door she pulled me in for a hug. It wasn't comfy but awkward however I assume this Toriel doesn't give many hugs, so I hugged back. Tearing up as I need to leave my mom again and knowing she will be alone for the rest of my journey. 

"Bye mom" I whispered

"Goodbye... My child" she responded with sorrow and kindness in her voice making me feel even more guilty of leaving her behind. 

Looking at the door and knowing your journey has only begun fills you with determination
