I slowly open my eyes to find a worried Flowey over my head. Out of instinct I shot backwards expecting something but as I realised nothing happened I relaxed and approached the flower.
"Frisk are you ok, geez you gave me a big fright. You can't just go collapsing like that." Flowey remarked with worry in his tone.
"Heh sorry about that.... Let's just say I finally managed to deal with an old issue" I sighed
"Ok, so now you dealt with whatever can we please get a move on.... It's very unsettling here" Flowey begged
So I picked up Flowey and put him on my shoulders, we then moved forward and still coming across no monsters. The ruins still had it's puzzles and same purple look but it is not the same without Toriel guiding me with her motherly hand.
We approached her door and with a sigh of both fear and relief I knocked. The knock seemed to have echoed through the ruins but nobody came. So I knocked another three times to hear a voice, it sounded motherly yet annoyed.
"YOU ONLY HAVE TO KNOCK ONCE YOU STUPID FLOWER" came a voice behind the door. Something tells me that Flowey is right and I may have a tough time here but that doesn't mean I wouldn't try. I gather my strength to say.
"It's not Flowey, it's frisk. I've come to..." My sentence was cut short as a tall looming figure stood above me. The same white fur, the same dress, it was Toriel but not the same in all ways. This one was thinner and she had some dark circles under her eyes. She also had a look of resentment as she looked down at me.
"Oh you have a human companion now flower, do you think it was a good idea to bring it here. Heh or were you scared to stop it like usual" Toriel remarked.
Tears stung my eyes as even though she wasn't my Toriel, she still looked like her and sounded like her. I hugged this Toriel hoping that she will comfort me.
"What are you doing child. Oh did I hurt your feelings by calling you an it. But it's what you are" she lets out an irritated sigh as she hugs back "your pathetic my child, but I suppose you don't mind coming inside" she asked with a slight sadness in her tone. It's as if she knew she shouldn't hurt me, as if her motherly instinct was there.
I followed Toriel inside and was greeted by the same smells of butterscotch and cinnamon, the warm feeling makes me smile. As Toriel disappears clearly trying to hide a smile, I left to her room to see if I could find anything that is the same between both Toriel's. After some time searching I stumbled on a book.
"Hm, it seems to have some writing in it, the hand writing is the same as always that's good I don't want a tu-toriel on how to read" after realising my pun I groaned and put m my head in my hands, then I looked back as I caught what looked like a knock knock joke
"Knock knock" I read aloud
"Who's there?" Replied Flowey
"Dead man" I continued to read
"Dead man who" Flowey asked
"Dead man you" I finished. After being shocked by this I decided it was probably for the best if I went to sleep and stop looking around. I walked to my room and as if it were routine I fell asleep.
Thinking about what tomorrow may bring fills me with determination as I fall into a silent slumber.
