Chapter 4: Demonic Dad?
Ora's POV
After two bins of strawberry ice cream Beck knows about my situation and what I did since 5 also what I have to do from now on.
"So you are a weird/scary creature that apparently fights for God. But you are on the verge of evil? And your mom was this?" He asks slowly just to make sure he completely understand.
"Yes."
He bursts out laughing and ends up falling off of my bed causing a loud thump to echo throughout the two story house.
"What's going on up there?!" Screams a very angry man that so happens to be sleeping on the couch which lies underneath my room. "It's 4 in the morning!!"
I started to cringe and crawl under the covers. This man scared me. There was a significant amount of change when I was 8. He went from loving and happy to uncaring and angry. Well not to everyone but definitely to me. The door flies open and hits the wall with enough force to make a crack. Travis's eye twitches and he starts to move towards me. Beck trying to be Prince Charming killing the dragon jumps in between us but is quickly slapped so hard that he's neck made a jerk almost enough to break his neck and he fell down. I started feeling the pokes of my fangs come down. I got into a crouching position, anger was radiating off Travis and I. Surprisingly he continued to move toward me. I would scare anybody why is he not scared?
Travis spoke in a voice that wasn't his, it was deeper and held evil, "Oh sweetheart, I've always known you were this. It isn't scary, although I haven't seen this color red for a very long time... Your mom was a good fighter, she even sent me to Hell but unfortunately for you I climbed my way out and made this family waiting for you to be this age." His eyes switch to black.
Wait! I'm not ready! I don't have any gear or anything! How am I going to kill him? Crap crap crap... Huh? "You're a demon in a persons body right?" He nodded. "So I can't just kill you without killing the real Travis." As I say this I'm standing up straight and smiling. He looks at me confused, but at that second the front door slams open and Father David enters the room with Cayden.
"Hello demon," father says.
Cayden grabs Travis and holds him against the wall, but he gets away and runs out the door disappearing into the night. I lost his tracks at the forest and my body falls to the ground changing back to my human self. It takes a lot of energy to change. Everything goes black.
My head is throbbing and I smell the scent of bacon. Sitting up I see I'm in my room, I blink my eyes a couple of times and start to climb out of bed. I'm in the tank top and sweats I had on last night but they were twisted on my stomach and one of my legs. This is why I don't wear sweats to sleep. A soft knock comes from my door and I grunt to say come in. It was Julie with a plate of a bacon, egg, hash brown sandwich that had ketchup and hot sauce on the side. Her other hand held a glass of chocolate milk.
"Hi... I just wanted to say sorry for being an ass for so long." She gently spoke. Her blonde hair fell in front of her tears stricken face.
Why was she crying? "Why are you crying? Is something wrong?" I asked taking the plate and glass away and sitting them on my desk.
"My dad.."sniffles" ..he's gone... I don't know where he is..."
Last nights ordeal suddenly flashed back. Him as a demon... Disappearing... "I'm sorry Julie. I'll find him I promise." I meant that with my whole heart.
"Why? You didn't like him."
"He still held a roof over my head," I didn't want to tell her the truth. It would break her heart.
"We have to police looking for him.. Well we will soon cause he technically not a missing person yet but I feel that something is wrong." With that she hugged me and left.
I quickly ate then got ready and was out the door in a hour.
"Beck go home this isn't your fight." I say to a bush because he is hiding behind it.
"How'd you know it was me?"
"You suck at hiding that's why."
I barge into the weaponry with Beck behind me. He looked confused. Yeah I didn't tell him that this place is like 4 football fields underground.
"Thanks for the text last night Ora," Cayden says and hands me my sword. "Trent is waiting for you. You are going to learn how to fight with it and without any weapons."
Trent is the guy that took me away from Cayden yesterday and trained me on guns and knifes. I walk to the gym and Cayden takes Beck somewhere.
Beck's POV
I get pushed over to this one room that has clothes and prints hanging everywhere.
Cayden says, "Okay so you know her a lot better than everybody here does. What would she like to fight in?"
My hands slide over the clothes. Some were skin tight to baggy to skin to covered up. Something pops out to me. It's a charcoal trench coat. I remember our conversations saying that was the only piece of clothing she ever wanted. I then found an army green tank top and dark blue ripped skinny jean that was still loose. I knew her exact size sense i was normally the one taking her shopping. The shoes are the hardest to pick because I found high top silver and black converse and a pair of brown combat boots. Well whatever the trench is what she's going to wear every time not the other part of the outfit. This woman snatched the clothing out of my hands and headed to an empty room, setting the prizes inside. What? Yeah I kinda like shopping... Ora then walks in covered in sweat. Even when she looks like that, she's pretty...
Ora's POV
After the training, which went great I'm really good at hand to hand fights and the sword is amazing in my hands anyways, I walk in to this room that apparently is a clothing store.
"Tailor room," Cayden whispers in my ear causing me to jump 5 ft in the air and almost punch him. "Haha sorry couldn't resist. Anyways Beck picked out an outfit for you. It's in that room." Cayden pointed to an open door.
I smiled at Beck who was watching me. It was different, he had this weird look in his eyes. I got shoved in the dressing room and there was this beautiful outfit but what caught my attention was the two pairs of shoes that fit my personality so much, and there was this unbelievable charcoal trench coat. I slipped on the pieces and they fit perfectly, but before I put on my coat or shoes there was a leather belt/strap thing. It ended up sitting with a crisscross on my back and straps holding on like a backpack but tighter, the bottom of the device ended right where a regular belt would. There were loops that a sword, guns, knifes, and ammo would fit. I then slipped on the combat boots because they went better with this outfit, although; I will wear the converses another time. The trench was last. It hugged right were it should and flowed at the bottom. The pockets were endless. They were in the inside and outside and seemed to be able to hold anything. I unlocked the door and walked out to Cayden, Beck and all the other people that are helping me.
