the thing is, they teach us from the start that no one will us until we love ourselves. but thats a lie; we accept the love we think we deserve. the problem is that we dont respect ourselves. who has ever heard of love starting off as just that: love? what is love without respect? and i think thats why it's so hard for us to find happiness with another person after a breakup; weve just been told there is no point in respecting ourselves. this is why we end up in abusive relationships; they dont respect us, but neither do we.
