Clarke:

I watched as the boy I once knew, turned his back on me, and broke my heart yet again. We're so close, yet so far away and it's just making me feel like I'm all alone. My mind wandered back to that day, but I was quickly snapped out of my thoughts when a hand was placed on my shoulder, I whipped my head around to see Finn. "So when do we leave?" He asked, I furrowed my eyebrows and gave him an obvious look. "How are the two of us supposed to carry enough food for 100 people?" I questioned, he turned around and strutted towards two boys who were turned away from us. He placed a hand on each of their shoulders and they turned their heads, "Four of us" he stated.

"Alright, we leave now" I say, "I'm coming too!" An all to familiar voice chirped, we all turned to face the beautiful Octavia. "No." I spoke simultaneously with Bellamy, Octavia turned to Bellamy and started to speak "Look Bell, I know you wanna protect me and all, but I'm not a child anymore..." "Yes you are" he retaliated. "No I'm not, and you need to accept that Bell. Plus Clarke's gonna be there." She jutted out her lip, and stared at him with her big doe eyes.

"And that's exactly why your not going." He spoke coldly.

Despite how much that stung, I did my best not to lash back at him, "Listen O, we don't know what's out there, it's not safe. After we've had some time to look around then maybe you can come, but right now it's too dangerous." I tried to reason, "Clarke please!" She pleaded, I looked to Bellamy and then to Octavia. "I'm sorry O, not this time okay?" She huffed, "When did you become so much like Bellamy" and then walked away. I looked over to where Bellamy once stood, but he was no longer there. "He wasn't always like that" I mumbled before heading off with the boys.

We trucked our way through the forest, following the sound of running water. While walking we stumbled upon a patch of beautiful purple flowers, "Woah" Jasper awes. Crack. We all turn towards where the sound came from, and stepping out from behind a large tree is Octavia. "Octavia what the hell are you doing here, your brother's gonna kill you for sneaking away." I scold, "I'm sorry Clarke, but I just needed to, I needed to be free." She smiled and ran towards a bunch of flowers, leaning down to smell them. "That's poison sumac" Monty points out, "What! It is?" Octavia shrieks, stepping away from the flowers. "The flowers aren't poisonous, their medicinal, calming actually." He says before shoving a flower into his mouth.

Finn looks at him with an odd face, Jasper realizes that he's confused so he fills him in, "His family grows all the pharmaceuticals on the arc." Finn nods, "Hey, guys would you try to keep up" I say with annoyance. "Come on Clarke, how can you block all this out?" Finn asks, "Well it's simple" I state, "I wonder, why haven't we seen any animals? Maybe it's because there are none, maybe we've already been exposed to enough radiation to kill us. Sure is pretty though. Come on." I say, while turning to walk away. We carried on our way, and while I was focused on getting to Mount Weather and retrieving enough food to insure our survival the others were busy making conversation about how they ended up in confinement. "What'd they get you for?" Jasper asked Octavia, she was silent. "Being born" her voice was laced with anger, she stomped ahead of them all and followed behind me, no longer wanting to be engaged in conversation.

I abruptly stopped, crouching down to the ground carefully surveying what I was seeing. It was beautiful, absolutely amazing to say the least. I had never seen one in person, but now that I had I was overjoyed. I turned around waving everyone to come closer, but soon placing a finger to my lips, signaling them to be quiet. Finn and Octavia crouched beside me, and Jasper and Monty behind them. We all stared in awe, it was a deer. "No animals, huh?" Finn whispered beside me, he stepped in front of me trying to get a better view, but failed to keep quiet when the bottom of his boot came into contact with a twig. It snapped, startling the deer and making it look in our direction. We were all taken aback when we saw the mutation in the deer. It soon ran off and we were left alone with terrible thoughts racing in our minds .
