"I'm not letting anyone hurt my baby sisters!" Kai said, walking into the living room. Me and my older sister, Angel, were sitting in the middle of the living room, facing where our mother was sitting as she told us stories about when we were young. When she mentioned my birth, my older brother, Kai, had walked in yelling. "Any asshole that dares harm them will get a taste of my fist!!" He continued yelling as he clutched his fist and raised it up. My mother looked at Kai, giggling slightly then faked a cough. I never understood why she did that, or what she meant when she did that, but every time she did, my older brother would apologize.
Kai walked behind me and Angel and leaned down to kiss both of our heads, one after the other. I turned around smiling at Kai, when my older sister jumped out without warning and began to yell as well, "I won't need protection, I'm going to be the most bad badass weapon user there ever is to exist!" Kai looked over at Angel, then unintentionally killed a bit of her confidence, "Angel, you can't just rely on using your weapon. You need to use your magic, too. Even if your magic is dangerous, it's also useful." Angel didn't like to use magic, she doesn't say why. She loves using her weapons, her sword, guns, scythe, and her favorite, her nun-chucks. She trains every day at least 3 hours with her weapons. "Why? What's the point of it if I'm really good at using my weapons," Angel smirked and raised her chin as if she were the best of the best, the queen of weapon users.
I looked at Angel and Kai as they conversated about magic. My mother seemed to be distracted, like if she was out of this world. I jumped up, interrupting Kai and Angel, "Oh yea, Angel? Well, I'm going to be the best light and dark magic wizard there is to exist!" Kai looked at me, a bit irriated, "Blair, I told you your dark magic is dangerous. You're not suppose to use it other than in an emergency. Not just that, but it drains your magic out very quickly, especially because your body can't hold a lot of magic, yet." I began to pout, getting ready to argue back to him when Angel stepped up for me. "Leave her alone, Kai. She's responsible, she can handle the dark magic," she said as she wrapped her arms around me hugging me. I put my fingers up to quote the word "responsible" then wrapped my arms around her as we both giggled. Kai gave us that annoyed look that he always makes whenever someone is acting to childish or isn't doing the right thing, or doing what he says.
Kai was getting ready to begin to lecture me and Angel when the door opened and someone walked in. "I'm home." The moment my siblings and I heard that, we knew who it was. It didn't take long before I ran to the person who had walked in and jumped. The person had caught and held me in their arms like if I was still a baby even though I was already 6. "Hi daddy," I yelled as I hugged him. Angel and Kai were right behind me. My father put me down, then hugged my sister picking her up just like me. He put his arm on my brother's shoulder and pulled him to his side hugging him as well. Kai was too old to be picked up anymore, and Angel was soon to be too old as well. My father removed his arm from Kai's shoulder then put Angel down. He looked at my mother who still seemed to be in another world. "Honey," my father tried to get her attention as he walked towards her. My mother finally woke up from her daydream and realized my father had finally arrived home. She smiled as she stood up and walked towards him. My parents loved each other very much, when they played around, they were best friends, when they were on missions, they were partners, but they were like king and queen when they showed their love to each other. "Welcome home, love," my mother said as she placed her arms around my father's neck and her lips on my father's lips. My father placed his hands on her hips and pulled her closer to him. From the looks of it, he wanted to smile while he kissed my mother.
Angel and I sat back down where we were before when our mother was telling us stories a few minutes ago, except this time we were facing our parents. We turned to face each other, stuck our tongues out and put both of our fingers slightly above our tongues,"blegh!" Our brother who was standing right behind us, slightly smacked the back of our heads chuckling a bit. We looked at him, sliding our tongues back in our mouths, putting our hands down and giggled. Our parents had seen what we did and they both laughed with us. I smiled looking at my parents and my siblings. I was so happy, I couldn't ask for anything better than this perfect family.
However, even the happiest of moments can be ruined.
