Chapter 5

"I don't mean to be rude or anything, but we both know you don't have much longer," Harry looked me in the eye and said. I nodded and awkwardly fidgeted in my seat on the couch.

"Well, I'm here to make sure the rest of your life is as amazing as it can be. So, we're going to make a list of things you want to do," Harry explained. I stood up and started walking towards my room to get a notebook and pen. Harry followed closely behind.

I opened the bottom drawer of my dresser and dug around until I found a small purple journal.

Harry looked around the room and found my box of writing utensils. He pulled out a purple gel pen and gave it to me. I took it and opened the notebook. I scribbled the words 'Before I Die' on the top of the page.

"How about you change that to say 'Bucket List' so it doesn't sound so depressing," Harry suggested. I shook my head and underlined the title.

"Sorry Harry, but it's the truth. I'm not going to change it," I replied. He rolled his eyes and sat down next to me on the bed.

"So, um, what kind of things do you have in mind? Like, little things or big, expensive things?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders.

"Both. Not to brag, I'm pretty rich, babe. I can do almost whatever I want," he replied. I realized that he really could do pretty much whatever.

I started writing something on the list. Harry peeked over my shoulder to see what my idea was.

"Go on a picnic under the stars. Wow, Lucy. That is so lame. I mean, it would be fun but you should put more extreme things on this list," he said. I nodded and were the words 'Go to Paris' underneath the first thing on the list.

"That's much better," he approved.

"We should do something nice for people, like maybe buy a bunch of food and give it to homeless people," I suggested. He nodded and I wrote it down on the list.

"Are there any artists you would like to meet or see in concert? Well, besides One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer. You've already seen us," he asked. I thought about it for a minute.

"Well, I really like Ed Sheeran..." I replied. He smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I knew that Harry and Ed were pretty good friends and that he could easily get me into a concert. I added that to the list.

"Hey, you know what I've never done before?" I asked.

"What?" Harry replied.

"I've never been to a carnival. You should take me to one," I said. His eyes widened in shock.

"You've NEVER been to a carnival before in your entire eighteen years of life? You have, like, no childhood" he said. I shook my head and added that to our list.

About an hour later, we decided that our list was big enough and we stopped adding more things to it.

The list looked like this:

Before I Die

•go on a picnic under the stars

•go to Paris

•give food to homeless people

•go to an Ed Sheeran concert

•go to a carnival

•bake a cake that looks like a monkey (This one was Harry's idea. I have no clue why but he insisted on adding it to the list.)

•watch a movie at an outdoor theater

•set off fireworks together

•swim with dolphins and beluga whales at SeaWorld

•go to London

•hot air balloon ride

•adopt a kitten

I thought the list was pretty good. There was a good mixture of big, expensive things and small, easy things. I couldn't wait to start doing some of the things.

Harry's idea was so thoughtful. I couldn't believe how much he actually cared for some dumb fan he met at a meet and greet.

"So, when do you want to start doing the things on the list?" he asked. We're done with the tour, so I'm free whenever."

"Don't you want to go back home to see your family?" I asked.

"We can do that when we go to London. Then we can go to Paris," he replied. That was smart.

"Well, I say we start tonight. We can do that picnic under the stars," he suggested. I nodded.

I couldn't wait to do all the fun things Harry and I had planned.
