A man yelled some homophobic slur from the other side of the street.

'Ignore them, Sylv.' I murmured, then turned to Phil 'Can't that idiotic man see the two year old girl in my arm?'

'Daddy?' Sylvester whispered, looking over at the other side of the street in panic.

'Well, Sylv, me and your other daddy are in love but because we're both boys some people don't like us.' I replied. I turned to Phil and spoke fairly quietly. 'I hate that we have to tell her what these things mean. I think we should probably go home.'

Phil nodded in reply. We ventured through the outskirts of the town centre and eventually found ourselves climbing the steep stairs to our flat.

'I still think we should see about moving somewhere else that doesn't happen to be in central London.' Phil stated. I had agreed to this statement previously but now that we have Slyv to look after as well, I don't think moving to a roomier place is really our biggest issue. We have got enough space, however Phil normally sleeps in my room now that Sylv's taken over his room.

Phil opened the door and walked in, holding the door open for me. I put Sylvester down and she went charging over to her little toy box in the corner of the lounge. Phil always played with her, whether it was Barbies or cars. I often sat on the sofa and watched them, as I was terrified that somehow one of them would manage to impale a Barbie hand into Phil's eye. Even though she has none of our genetics, Sylvester still takes after us. She's clumsy and funny, smart and silly. She also has the most beautiful green eyes and short blonde hair. The only thing is, she doesn't really speak. She has the most uplifting laugh and childish and cute grin, but she doesn't talk much. We've been trying to homeschool her, but we'll soon get a tutor in for some of the things we can't teach her. Phil's alright with teaching her English, seeing as he has a degree in English literature, but we're both hopeless at maths.
