well, it's like one moment you're swimming. you're swimming in the sea. suddenly, something just hits you. out of nowhere. then you're drowning. that's depression. depression hits you for no reason at all. depression is drowning you. but something starts to pull you out of the water. think about what that would feel like. to be drowning, then get pulled out. you would feel relief. that's self harm. self harm is the relief.
